help your computer hack you.
Welcome to the new revamped topic/thread of the best free hacks/files that you can get your hands on. As it was in the past, I’m going to put up files (that are free) that have more of a practical use that a lot of people are used to. Also, one advantage is that these files are collectivized. You don’t have to go out and look for them using Google, but even if you did, you probably wouldn’t know what files you wanted.
Now to keep everything more organized (as I mentioned in the other thread), I’m going to try to list the date of when I put up certain files, so for those of you who want to come back and view this topic again, you won’t have to decide which files/tips you’ve seen, and which ones you haven’t. Also, note the attachment at the bottom of the page. The old “free tips” thread had some good files and links, so I figured I’d save them for reference sake (and some of the files are still pretty good). I tried to remove as much of the VB coding as I could, but there is still probably some of that in there as well as some broken links (as some files have moved). I may fix it some, but I’m pretty busy now, and there’s not really much of a point as I’m going to attach the archive.

Update: I’ve decided that even though these two threads aren’t completely done, I’m still going to post them up. This is mainly because before, I had incomplete topics, and I just updated them as I went along. It’s a whole lot easier to just edit a few things in my post, rather than just trying to upgrade this word document, and never getting around to it! Enjoy :D
Well, I really need some reputation (because I shoved TM off in a huggle fest) so here's a few good links:
A Stealth Browser (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2005/11/22/ghostzilla-the-almost-invisible-browser/) which blends the internet with applications such as MS-Word and even MS-Outlook (as well as some other apps).
Also for those of you who are looking for image hosting, check over here (http://www.ghacks.net/2005/11/22/free-file-host-list-november-2005) which lists several good sites (with pros and cons).
EDIT: Check the archive below for some old free files! Also, if some of these are just so imporant that I can't just leave them in the archive, I WON'T!
Enjoy :)

help your computer, help you.
Ok, before I showed you all about the memory program Fast Defrag (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/0,fid,23097,fileidx,1,00.asp).
These 2 new files will help in DVD Burning and Backup. The first thing you need to do is to decrypt your DVD since everyone encodes them. Use this little tool, DVD Decrypter (http://cache.techtv.com/binaries/2004/dvddecrypter.exe) to decrypt the dvd and put it onto your hardrive. NOTE: You will need around 7-10GB of storage for each uncompressed DVD. To move the size down, I recommend DVD Shrink (http://cache.techtv.com/binaries/2004/dvdshrink314setup.zip). This file shrinks the DVD to a some-what reasonable size. Then you can burn it to a DVD-/+R. I believe that DVD shrink has a burn software in it, but just in case it doesn't, or you want more features, I would recommed Nero (http://www.nero.com/us/index.html) and DVD X Copy (http://www.dvdxcopy.com/platinum.asp).
Enjoy :)

It's about free software that helps you. DVD Sofware costs a few 100 in stores, and the RAM software helps you not have to restart your computer to regain your memory, and the new software helps your games run off the hardrive.

the Avast Antivirus BART (Bootable Antivirus and Recovery Tool) CD... wait, this isn't free?... oh well... It's a really good buy... basically you pop the CD in before you start your computer. It disables your OS, making all viruses still think your computer is off. Then, it allows you to choose from many things, such as a wordpad-like program, Servant Salamander, which allows you to move folders and files around w/out the OS, and of course, Avast! Antiviurs tool, which is a very good Antivirus that recieves daily updates for the Virus Database (place that says, "this is virused, this is not, this has the PariteB Worm...")

also, try downloading the google toolbar and this nifty program will help you like never before, anywhere on your computer, anyprogram or aything where yo can type txet this prog works, it replaces text, so you give it a trigger text like nedAA, then it will replace that with what you tell it to (replace text) for example, We Need Anti Air, it's really useful in games where they're is no time to talk, and since it works anywhere it can help in other places also, (e.g msn, broswer)
sorry, my attchemtns are too big, and im having probelms removing them, but i will post that prog ASAP, or i will be able to send it via msn to someone who can post it here

Well, I think I know what you're problem is. Exit any programs, then run the Fast Frag program. It will slow down, while it's freeing up more memory. It's not really meant to be run during applications. If you exit any programs, then run it, then run your programs you can run it that way, but you can't run it during an application. It's real purpose is to save you from having to restart the computer.

I just downloaded that, but I will also put up a similar file. That file does seem better than mine, but I'll post it up anyway.
Another software for burning copy protected games is called Alcohol 120% (http://www.alcohol-software.com/). This software does things a bit different. Instead of doing a raw state copy, it just bypasses the protected CD, by you choosing what the protection is. First, you must identify the type of copy protection used on your games. But how? Use the Internet. Sites such as http://www.petemoore.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ are good for this purpose. Second, start up Alcohol 120% and select Copy Wizard. Under Datatype choose the copy protection of your game. There you go.

***A GOOD WAY TO MAKE CD IMAGES***
HAVING USED MOST CD IMAGING PROGS, I PREFER THIS SOLUTION.
SADLY, IT REQUIRES OLDER VERSIONS OF CLONYXXL AND CLONECD THAT MAY BE HARD TO FIND.
-CLONYXXL VERSION 2.006- LAST VERSION TO HAVE THE"START CLONECD" BUTTON WHICH IMPORTS SCAN RESULT SETTINGS INTO CLONECD TO ASSIST IN MAKING AN IMAGE. 742KB
-CLONECD VERSION 4.2.0.2- LAST VERSION MADE BY ELBY. THEY SOLD CLONECED TO SLYSOFT BUT NOT WITH ALL FEATURES. VIRTUAL CLONE DRIVE AND MORE HAS DISAPPARED IN THE SLYSOFT VERSIONS. 3.3MB
-DAEMON TOOLS VERSION 3.46-STILL BEING UPGRADED. 498KB
VISIT WWW.DAEMON-TOOLS.CC
*BASIC INSTRUCTIONS*
USE CLONYXXL TO SCAN THE CD THEN HIT IT'S START CLONECD BUTTON. SCANNED SETTINGS ARE IMPORTED INTO CLONECD WHICH IS WHERE YOU MAKE AN IMAGE OF THE CD. I DON'T BOTHER TO BURN THEM TO CD (AS I HAVE LOTS!!! OF HARD DRIVE STORAGE) BUT JUST MOUNT THE IMAGE IN A VIRTUAL CD DRIVE. USING DAEMON YOU CAN CREATE 4 VIRTUAL CD DRIVES. IMAGES MOUNTED IN THEM ARE PERSISTANT (STILL THERE AFTER A REBOOT OF SYSTEM).

Circle Virtual CD (http://www.circleofone.com/). I use this software nearly everday, and I can personallly vouch for it's validity. It's excellent software which happens to be FREE!!!
What's the difference between that software, and the one I mentioned?
QUAD6
05-06-2004, 01:06 PM
ClonyXXL (version 2.006 or earlier only) figures out the copy protection and tells CloneCD (version 4.2.0.2 or earlier only) to aid it making the image. Daemon Tools can install 4 virtual cd drives on your system and load your images. It also has copy protection emulators but don't need them for images made with ClonyXXL-CloneCD. But very useful for images made other ways.
Alcohol 120% is also very good, offering copy protection emulation.
An excellent cd\dvd info source:

Going to test Circle Virtual CD.
CNET said:
"Like almost all freeware, Circle Virtual CD isn't perfect and doesn't
work with all games. We used two games to test the software:
Microsoft's "Crimson Skies" and "Command & Conquer Generals." One
day neither game worked. The next day "Crimson Skies" worked like a
charm. We never did get "Generals" to work.
If your game doesn't work, you're stuck. Circle of One, the program's
parent company, doesn't provide a help file or tutorials."
http://www.techtv.com/callforhelp/freefile/story/0,24330,3510753,00.html
NOTE: I have bought every C&C game and always will.
Making images is about:
-Faster gameplay from hard drive.
-Never wasting time finding the darn disk.
-Never again buying anything twice.

help your computer, help you.
Ok, before I showed you all about the memory program called Fast Defrag (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/0,fid,23097,fileidx,1,00.asp).
Now these files are mainly for burning a DVD, but they are good if you just want to backup a dvd (if you have a big enough hardrive). If you just use the compression and delete the unnecesary files, then you could probably have a DVD for around a few gig.
NEW FILE: A lot of times I want to play a game, but I don't like interchanging CDs. This next file is free legal software which will let you backup your games and run them directly from your hardrive. The software just creates an exact replica of the CD and creates a virtual CD drive to play them on, hence the name, Circle Virtual CD (http://www.circleofone.com/). I use this software nearly everday, and I can personallly vouch for it's validity. It's excellent software which happens to be FREE!!!
NEW FILE: Having problems with playing multi-region dvds? Well look no further. Try VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). It will play those multi-region dvds as well as stream dvd video. It's a miracle for those who bought a different region player, and take it back home to another country or something along those lines.
NEW FILE: As listed on my last reply of this topic, this software is probably the best free diagnostic software there is. To check it out, go to http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html? dir=dload&location=sware_dl_x86&langx=en&a= .
What's fast defrag?
What's diagnostic software?
I have my doubts on Circle Virtual CD being legal, as it only mentions images.
Thanks in advance. :)
bringonts2
05-11-2004, 02:29 PM
The Fast defrag progam just frees up loose memory. A lot times you have just ran a program, but the memory is in use. Most people restart their computers at this point. Fast defrag just does the same thing as a restart, but saves you the time of actually waiting for it to restart.
Diagnostic software is software that can help you if you are having problems with your computer. That software will tell you anything from Bios information, to Port information. It does a bunch of stuff.
It's legal. One company actually did the same software and sold it for like $20 at bestbuy. It makes an image of your CD for your HDD. The way they make it legal, is that people get tired of inserting like 20 cds for each game. This way, that software creates a virtual CD drive and insertes your game, without having any physical disks.
Feel free to ask any questions you like :)

are we talking the original platform game?
with the shadow, skelentons, and stupid cheating jaffa on the last level?
that game was easy, the only hard part, imo, was the tight time-limit
edit: oh yeah, i remember now, the best way to gain time, was on the end of the 6th level (the one with the only fat guard) is to leap as far as you can. start of 7th youll just reach a ledge with the green potion
drink and drop down, piece of cake. ;)
edit edit: i believe, (its been many years) the trick to level 2 is to get right to the top, and do that running ledge jump about 5 times from left to right. right at the end is that column with the slate that opens the door on the far left again. you have to get back very quickly to get throught the gate-way, but if you bunny-hop through, its quite doable really :D

edit edit: i believe, (its been many years) the trick to level 2 is to get right to the top, and do that running ledge jump about 5 times from left to right. right at the end is that column with the slate that opens the door on the far left again. you have to get back very quickly to get throught the gate-way, but if you bunny-hop through, its quite doable really :D
lol, sorry ghoststalker, added this in after

Have you got any walkthroughs? I could not get past level 2. :(
All of them are free. Alcohol is the only one that would cost money since it's only a free trial, so I suppose it's not technically free.

edit: oh yeah, i remember now, the best way to gain time, was on the end of the 6th level (the one with the only fat guard) is to leap as far as you can. start of 7th youll just reach a ledge with the green potion
drink and drop down, piece of cake. ;)

How many of you have played a game and reached for the ctrl or alt key, but instead hit the windows key? You frantically try to get back into your game only to find that your head is a pile of red goo. Well then do a search for the program "I hate this key!" (My search engine doesn't work, i can't give a link). It allows you to disable the windows key. :p
Harry Potter Series. There may be other games that do it for you. Some applications also allow you to change their properties for this. :)

Regarding Circle Virtual CD - What does an image look like on your Hard Drive? Will it be read only? Can it be backed-up? If I burn a game onto my computer, will I still need to install it from the CD/Image on disk?
bringonts2
06-30-2004, 12:30 PM
When you back up a CD onto your HDD, it will be an image of the CD. The Image is really just an .hvd file on your computer. Just treat the image like a regular file. As far as it being read only, well, you can copy the file to a CD (I believe you can copy it as data) and then transport it around, as long as the computer you are going to put it on has the same software. When in the program, you just select the CD-Rom drive, then it will make the image, which is really just a file, and it will be on your HDD. The software creates a virtual CD drive so that you can just double click on an image and it will insert it into your virtual CD-ROM drive, and you'll be able to play the game. For instance, I bought Call of Duty. I just used the software to make an image file, and whenever I want to play the game, I just double click on the file, and it'll "insert" it into your computer. I believe than you can run installations directly from the CD, but don't quote me on that. If you can't do that (which I'll try later on), you'll probably have to install the CD on your computer if you want to play it first.

Thanks. :)
I am confused about the .hvd file, though. If I put that on a cd, then tried to transfer it ont another comp, must that comp have Circle Virtual CD as well? :thought:
Also, please check out this thread. :)

An image is just 2 to 4 files, depending upon which program you use to make it. Using my method (see 2 messages on page 4 of this thread) you get 4 files. Using Gens ZH Disk 1 as an example the file sizes are 1KB, 1KB, 31MB and 750MB. To backup, just copy to another location.
Read only? Well, you use it by mounting it in a virtual cd drive or burning it to cd disk. Then you install it from whichever. Since hard drives are faster than CDs, I play my games from images mounted in virtual cd drives.
Most programs that make an image from a cd also allow you to look into the image and extract files from it.
My methods work so well that i still have not tested Circle Virtual CD.

Luckily I'm not forcing anyone to get either one of the software files. I'm downloading the Daemon tools right now, so if I test them and see that they are just as simple and easy to use as Virtual CD, I'll post it up on the front page as well, ok?

bringonts2
06-30-2004, 09:42 PM
You mean backup? Yeah, it acts just like a file. You can copy over and over again, and even burn it to a CD, but the CD probably won't act like the original CD. If you want to burn it like data onto a CD and then put it onto another one of your computers, or someone else who has the same game, then yes you can do that. Just treat it as a Windows file.

bringonts2
07-04-2004, 03:01 PM
Well, I just tryed out the Daemon tools, and it seems pretty cool. You can back up new games that Circle of One can't backup (such as Generals) and such. However, the only complaint I have is that it isn't very simple. The main thing is you need 3rd party software (such as Clone CD) to make an image or .iso of your CD. I couldn't find a program that did that which was inside the Daemon tools. This is why I like Virtual CD Creator. It seems more simplified. However, I've been using a combo of both lately.

Can you patch the images of the games?
( I'll try it out. :) )
bringonts2
07-04-2004, 04:52 PM
Lol, I think you misunderstand what it is. The software creates a virtual CD drive and a virtual CD. It makes your computer think that you just put in your CD, when you really didn't put it in physically. It acts just like any other game. You're not patching the Image, you're patching the game itself. The game itself and the game image are totally different.

well... to USE a no-cd hack, you need to have the original game files already installed... so you do have to pay for the game... the No-cd hack is pretty much a modified .exe that contains certain files that allow the game to launch without a CD in the tray... seems perfectly legal to me, and if I get in trouble... It speeds up all internet downloads. This is mainly due to the fact that it automatically finds out if the file is hosted anywhere else and if you can download from it. But even if there aren't, I've personally still seen marked improvement. You can also pause and resume downloads, which is really friendly to those who have slower internet connections.

MaXiMuZZZ-as our SuperMod has ruled, now i'll reply to your concern.
If the links i posted for no-cd progs also lead to pie-rat stuff, just don't make eye-contact with it. It's your personal choice. Actually, the whole darn net is full of stuff that's, maybe, dangerous and disgusting. Even illegal...
Illegal is a confusing concept, eh?
Has to do with actions in violation of a law.
Such an action is a "crime".
Actions in violation of what a software publisher writes into a EULA are not a crime although they want you to believe they are.
But these are legally civil matters, not criminal.
:mad:
If the EULA says no reverse engineering that's like Steve King saying you can only read his book front to back and don't dare study how he writes so well!
Use your Bulls**t detectors, guys. Read a EULA and if you accept it at face value consider seeking help. Because the RIAA, MIAA, SBA, MS have hacked your brain. :eek:
So a no-cd program is not a crime anymore than a CNC mod. :D
Copywrite law has always been a civil matter (as in, sue me) until recent years. With the advent of the net, then P2P, unpaid for use of copywrited material has moved toward the criminal. Owners of copywrites say it's theft and instead of them sueing you they want the government to arrest you. Which is a lot easier for them. And they got a point. Plus good stuff needs to make money so more good stuff can be made, eh? Good thing i bought every C&C game, no? So now we have Generals. But i do "try before you buy".
Cheers all! :beer: :D :beer:

I'll try to have it fixed and have a review when the semester's over in early December, or the week we get off for Thanksgiving.

Hate having to Download from p2p apps, becuse of speed/Ques/disconnections etc?
Try downloading from IRC (internet relay chat), Simply download Mirc,(www.Mirc.com and use a IRC search engine(www.packetnews.com) to find the File (e.g C++ for dummies Ebook), then when the results appear, click on the packet number ( e.g #8) which will launch and try to connet Mirc to the channel, once connected simply Paste, and you will paste the packet number and bot name from whom you will d/l, then press enter and the bot will reply with the d/l status (e.g what file u r d/ling and when it will begin) when the d/l begins a seperate window in mirc will open which will have the d/l status.
Notes: Sometimes newer versions of mirc are set to not recive files go to options>DCC options and fiddle around there to enable or unignore files.
Note2: Im new to this part of the web too
Note3: sorry if this is note meant to be spoken of on DGN

Firewall

Spyware scanner

I've used IRC\USENET a lot the last ten years but not much now. Choked up! with script-kiddies and evil-doers. Like virus lovers and spammers.

Well, we're not really going to get into a big discussion, but there is a reason P2P apps are so popular. If you download from Kazaa or WinMX then you have a lot better chances of getting the file at better speeds. However, even then the network layout is better than mIRC. The best way to get files quickly is to download them from several different people, at the same time. However, even then the network is better than mIRC. BitTorrent has the best network layout so far, but we're not going to discuss anything illegal.

I'll try to find a free one, but...
You can use Real Player or Windows Media Player to do it too. When you rip them to your HDD they'll be .wma's or .ra (forget the extension) for real player, but if you burn a CD, most burners will convert them into .mp3s. If you have a burner, most of them also have the ability to rip .mp3s. However if you don't have either one of those, I'll try to find a free one fo ya.
EDIT: I tried http://www.mp3-converter.com/mp3_converter_freeware.htm and seemed to get some possibles. If we don't end up finding you one, PM me and we'll deal with it.

12-05-2004, 01:33 PM
Yeah, that's a great deal too. I need to partition my HDD that will have Linspire on it because Linspire is a little different from other versions of Linux. It can piggy back on to WinXp in several ways. Also, the main reason that I have to partition my HDD is because Lindows uses Fat32 hard drives. Right now, mine is at an NTFS, so make sure to check that Chemical, because it won't work on NTFS formatted drives.

Ok Just making sure.
Critical Review of Linspire:
Well after I got it installed, I was fairly impressed. There is software that you can download that allows you to do several different things that Windows can't. However, to access most of this software, you have to subscribe to a monthy or yearly fee to get access to the software. Also, if the software isn't free, you have to pay additionally for the software itself. Now this is reasonable if you're just getting a computer, but I don't want all my old software to go to waste. Also, it doesn't seem that Lindows will read non-fat32 partitions, so you won't be able to use those other partitions unless you either A: Switch between OS's B. Buy the "WinLin" software that allows you to have a Windows shell open inside your current OS C. Partition all of your HDs to be Fat32 (Fat32 partitions aren't as secure as NTFS, and I think WinXP works best on NTFS). I would also like to note that Lindows' GUI doesn't allow you to manage your hard drive space like Windows does. You can't even physically open then and do the Window's "Drag-n-drop". Some of the applications are extremely cool, but if you add the cost of the subscription to get the software, and the cost of the software itself, then that will rack up some $$$. So even though I was fairly impressed with this version of Linux, I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not willing to subscribe to get certain software, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have all of his/her HDD space partitioned to FAT32.
So...it's off to another version of Linux.

1. my sound card dosnt work with linspire
2. it looks gay

bringonts2
12-07-2004, 11:53 AM
But even if your hardware worked, you probably wouldn't want to pay for all new compatable software. All of my hardware worked with it, but none of my software did. I was also not willing to just ignore 200 gigs of HDD space because it could only read FAT32. I actually liked the new GUI, but not being able to READ (Read!) any other type of drives, means that you would have to switch between OSs unless you got the shell switcher program. It's just not worth it. If all of your hardware got screwed over, you're lucky you never met the software component!
Yeah, I'm heading to debian as well :D
EDIT: You should be fine with Debian or most other forms of Linux because they actually run in the Linux shell, and they don't use FAT32 partitions.
Also, do you know which version you are supposed to get for AMDs (for downloading the image file)? I think the ia64 is for intel users, but I don't know which ones I should get. Do you know?

This player is an anti-version for what Microsoft and Winamp gives u. Here, no useless options and tweaks who take up memory. To go even beyond this simplicity, Foobar2000 can read, play and convert(!) all types of Audio files. Nothing can resist him. And to add to this, the best is that itīs totally free!

Yeah, I could put up BitTorrent as a means to get legal stuff (with a caption not to download illegal stuff), but I haven't thought of that before, and it's against the rules to put up a file that is illegal. However, since it isn't technically illegal, I could just reference to it when posting up the NASA stuff. Two of my files (or tips) will include NASA's World Wind program and Google's satellite images. I just have a crap load of websites to go through and read (which are archived, I won't even get into much of the current stuff). EDIT: the link to the file is at the bottom, and no the extension headings are not links sorry, not yet anyway, i might update it.
I have put a number of useful firefox extensions into one, extensions file, to install all you need to do is unzip, and then drag the YB_FFXT_03.10.06.xpi file onto the firefox tabs area (press ctrl + t to view) or the address bar. I'll briefly explain below what each extension does, however feel free to Google each extension to discover more about how to use it or what it does. To view these extensions go to Tools>extensions then right click any extension to view its configuration, or to disable/enable or uninstall any extension.
// WebmailCompose{0.6.6}.xpi
Allows you to use a web based email service as the default, rather then opening outlook if you clicked on a email link, it would open a new tab and head to your preferred web email service such as gmail with the address and/or subject line filled in, also allows you to firefox's check email/ new message features with your new preferred mail services, which are accessible from the tools menu.
// Adblock{0.5.3.043}.xpi + AdblockFilterset.GUpdater{0.3.0.4}.xpi
Adblock + Filterset, is THE extension. It blocks almost ALL ads’ you find on web pages, in the time I’ve used it I have rarely if ever seen any banners... . The adblockFilterset.Gupdater updates adblock with a new weekly set of blacklisted domains which serve out ads. You can also white/black list a page, or a site or even just one element of a page.
// BugMeNot{1.3}.xpi
Allows for easier access of the www.bugmenot.com website which provides passwords and usernames for websites which require free registration to access content, such as on the www.nytimes.com website.
// CustomizeGoogle{0.51}.xpi
Allows you to customize Google pages, such as remove ad's from Google services such as gmail, prevent the sending of information to Google, add links to other sites (e.g. in Google search adds a "would you like to search yahoo, a9,..Etc), also allow you to number search results etc.
// DownloadStatusbar{0.9.4.1}.xpi
allows you to make use of your firefox status bar by allowing you to display download progress for downloads on the status bar, if you need your status bar space you can use the compact mode, which uses a dropdown menu type list of downloads. However my favourite feature is hidden in the configuration, it basically lets you setup an automatic virus scan of every download as soon as it completes, using your virus scanner, such as AVG free.
// DownThemAll{0.9.9.6.5}.xpi
Integrates an improved download manager into firefox, new features include download accelerator function, which allows you to spilt the file up into several parts, also has better resume, cancel, pause features, as well as audible download complete notification. Can also be used to download contents of entire site directory (leech) the files and download them as a batch job.
// Fasterfox{1.0.3}.xpi
Enhances firefox trough a number of enhancement tweaks, such as pipelining, prefetching and other network and rendering tweaks.
// FirefoxExtensionBackupExtensionFEBE{3.0}.xpi
Allows you to backup, your extensions, bookmarks, histories, themes, cookies, passwords, security certificates, almost everything.
// FirefoxGoogleBookmarks{0.2}.xpi
Allows you to sync your firefox bookmarks with your Google bookmarks, and also access them form a drop down menu.
// FireFTP{0.94.3}.xpi
Basic integrated ftp client into firefox.
// Flashblock{1.5.1}.xpi
Gives you better control of flash movies, especially useful for flash ads as it does not play them until you click play.
// GetFile{1.2.1}.xpi
Allows you to enter an address to a file to download, a missing function in the normal firefox download manager.
// GmailNotifier{0.5.6.5}.xpi
Notifies you of any new emails you receive.
// Greasemonkey{0.6.5.20060727}.xpi
This allows you to make use of user scripts form sites such as www.userscripts.org which are similar to extensions only there are thousands of these, and you can create your own using JavaScript to do anything e.g. disable timers on pages which force you to wait a certain time before allowing you to continue to the next page.
// IEViewLite{1.2.5}.xpi
Sometimes, you come across pages which are not firefox friendly, this allows you to open those pages in internet explorer.
// MenuEditor{1.2.2}.xpi
Allows you to customize and modify any menus, ranging from the menu bars, tool bars to the context menus, add, remove or organise functions.
// NukeAnythingEnhanced{0.53}.xpi
this tool is awesome, it basically allows you to temporarily remove ANYTHING form a page, e.g. right click on a annoying animated image or avatar to make it easier to read that post or article, also gets rid of other page elements such as borders, text, background colours, table cells, etc...
// OpenDownload{0.2.3}.xpi
Allows you to open files using the default windows program, e.g. pdf's or exe's, and especially exquisite file formats which firefox does not know what to use to open.
// QuickNote{0.6.0.3}.xpi
to access this awesome tool, tools>quick note, I tend to use it in the side bar form, it is basically an enhanced notepad file inside firefox, it automatically saves to text files and you can have more then 2 open, using tabs in the side bar, you can also customise the fields colours, font size etc. it great for doing assignments as it allows you to take notes easily, simply highlight a selection of text right click and send to quick note this will result in the highlighted text being copied to quick note as well as the address to the text underneath.
// SpellBoundDevelopment{0.9.8.20060108}.xpi
This allows for checking of spelling on website after importing a dictionary through the extension, it will underline misspelled words like spell check in word, and you simply can alt click on a word and select the correct spelling or for large amounts of text do the batch spell check.
// TabMixPlus{0.3.0.5}.xpi
for this I don't know where to start it has SO many features and functions that are added, such as the session saver, which can restore crashed sessions, as well as allowing you to save sessions you can come back to after, it saves all the tabs, and the scroll positions. Then there are the hot keys, and mouse shortcut keys which can be modified, as well as all the tab features, e.g. it allows you to highlight unread tabs, and allows you to add a separate progress bar to each tab, as well as adding, undo close tab and undo close window functions. It also allows you to use a single window mode, where all new window links are forced to open as new tabs, including popup. Basically allows you to change and add to the visuals and functionality to tabs, and windows as well as menus.
// VideoDownloader{1.1}.xpi
Allows you to download embedded videos on sites like you tube, Google video, metacafe etc,
Also, if you encounter any problems, don't hold me responsible, just go to start > firefox > safe mode , and disable/uninstall all/any extensions from there if it has any issues.
If you have any probelms or need help you can PM me, but i might take a while, best to try the firefox forums, or google.
