New BB Codes!

I'm really taking advantage of this new forum! Now I can announce every little thing I play around with on here. :p My most recent product is a bunch of new BB Codes for you to experiment with! A full explanation of all BB Codes can be found here (http://forums.cncden.com/misc.php?do=bbcode) as usual, but I will list here the most recent additions:


Marquee

Adds a marquee effect to your text.

Usage:
text

Behaviour can be 'scroll' or 'alternate', each giving a different effect when used:

Examples:
Marquee - Scrolling
Marquee - Alternating


Background

Gives your text a background of the specified colour.

Usage:
text

Colour can be a name of an accepted HTML colour name, or a hex code.

Example:
Background


Float

An alternate form of aligning your text using the float: style.

Usage:
text

By using a combination of the float tag for left and right align, and the standard center tag, one can create three column lists.

Example:


Float: RightFloat: LeftNormal Center



Auto-Search Tags

Allows you to wrap text in automatic links in popular websites Google, Amazon.com, Yahoo, EBay and English Wikipedia.

Usage:
google.com search
amazon.com search
yahoo.com search
ebay.com search
en.wikipedia.org search

Let me know if you want any other major websites added. ;)

Rainbow

Adds a very pretty rainbow effect to your text! Requires Javascript to be enabled.

Usage:
text

Examples:
Rainbow!
It can also cover longer complete sentences. Or even multiple sentences. Or even whole paragraphs if you're feeling colourful!


Smilie Sign

And finally, a BB Code which simulates a smilie holding up a sign which you can customise the way you want!

Usage:
text

For the smilie section you put the name of the smilie's gif file to use. So by right clicking on the smilies in the smilie box you can view their Properties and thus their filename, and that's what you use.

Examples:
Banned!
...
WTF!?
Werd

One tip here. Keep to using smilies that are the standard 15x15 pixel size (most of them). There are some larger ones (:angel:, :sleep:, :tantrum: etc.) that, if used, don't exactly look good. Just be sensible. :p


AND of course you can play around combining these tags together...

^ Background tag doesn't work. It only displays the text "Background", not what's ACTUALLY in between there.

Not to nag, but could you make these to open up in new windows when clicked? The standard links in the forum (to locations outside of the forum) do this and its really nice.

I think I agree, I asked the question originally more out of dread than hope. I don't really like distracting sigs (I'm fine with non-distracting sigs though), and moving text especially is distracting. :\
