Okay, this is the character thread. In order to play Darkville, players must fill an extensive sheet with a series of fields, that will be revised and discussed by the GM.

These are the following

Owner: (self explanatory)

Name: (self explanatory)
Race: (mostly aesthetic. For non-human players, ask the GM)
Age: (mostly aesthetic. Keep it coherent, though).
Gender: (Male, or female)

Background: (this is basically your character's experiences in life prior to ending in Darkville. It must also contain how they ended up there. For people with ties to the historical past of the town, ask the GM)

Description: (appearance and personality.)

Vocation: (what your character wants or claims to be, must be in accordance with skills, description and personality)

Skills: (what can your character do.)

Belongings: (what your character has in possesion. You don't need to extensively describe your house unless you live in Darkville)

Paranormal qualities: (Place anything that belongs to the occult here. Be just it a simple priesthood blessing skills or undeath. Be wary though, it is not recommended to load much stuff here, to avoid freakshows.)

For Example:

Owner: el CKW

Name: Father Arthur Pottery

Race: Human

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Background: Once one of the brightest of his class, Arthur soon showed his interest into becoming a man of God. Infused with illusion and perhaps too much innocence, he willingly took care of the ruined church of Darkville upon the death of the former priest. However, the years spent in the town have had their payload, and the cheerful, lively farther Arthur couldn't help to become gruff upon the poor alms the townsfolk lend.

Personality: Unusually bright for a man of faith, father Arthur constantly struggles between belief and reason. It is not uncommon to see him spending hours and hours reading in his books, just to have a break everywhere and now to have a pint of his favourite ale. Once cheerful and lively, the years and the gloomy atmosphere have turned him more cynical and gruff. However, he can't say no to a lively tune or a dance.

Despite his accomodated lifestyle and his book rat attitude,he still has a burly build, wich is helpful to deal with petty discussions over the commoners. His black priest clothes and smoked lenses just make him more intimidating. He has blond hair, and frecles over his virile but pale face.

Vocation: Priest/Scholar

Skills:
Priesthood lore
Persuasion
Tough build
Bright intellect

Belongings:
Holy Bible
Holy Cross
Holy water flasks
The SealStone abbey, wich includes a wide library of books, with the most miscellaneous knowledge. The abbey is a two floor building,in wich the first is the temple and the second the habitacles, with a cellar excavated in the rock, and several secret corridors. He has the darkville graveyard attached to it.

Paranormal skills:
Exorcism
Blessing
Basic occult arts.

VO

Name: Thurgood

Race: Human

Age: Late Thirties

Gender: Male

Description: Thurgood is four feet tall – he is a dwarf. His head is disproportionately large and rests heavily on his shoulders, and his eyes (one green, one purple) do not align correctly. His hair is lanky and white. Thurgood wears fairly expensive clothes, but they show heavy signs of wear and tear. He has a hat made out of a Monkey.

Background: Thurgood Whittler was born on the Atlantic ocean, in the hold of a ship. Horribly deformed even at birth, he was only saved from drowning by a kindly sailor who took charge of the boy and kept him alive on rum and wormy biscuits. When the ship put in at Wales, the young boy was taken in by a monastic order who gave him an education far better than many of his birth would have received. However, when he was only six years old, disaster struck, as Thurgood got into a fight with another novice and broke a bible over his head. The boy was expelled from the monastery to wander the streets of the world.

A child like Thurgood would never have it easy, even compared to the other poor souls in similar situations. He travelled far and wide, sleeping in ditches and stealing what little food he could, all the while being a figure of fun for the common people of the world. In his several decades of existence, Thurgood has travelled back and forth across the atlantic and even to France, witnessing many important events in history (Signing of the Declaration of Independance, French Revolution, Invention of the Steam Engine etc). Over this time, he learnt to use this to his benefit, and became a travelling con-man and swindler, moving onto pastures new whenever the locals became aware of his true nature. Over the years, Thurgood slowly drifted north toward Scotland, until barely a month ago, when he was caught in bed with a cheesemonger’s wife and fled with his trousers around his ankles. Unbeknownst to him at the time, the cheesemonger was a member of a powerful Scottish Clan, as well as a Mason, local hero and brother to the Earl of Glasgow. Thurgood has decided it’s a good idea to lie low for a while, and has travelled to the remote highlands to ply his trade, shady as it is.

Personality: Thurgood has been victimised all his life, but he isn't the type to start a livejournal about it. He kicks back at life and hits it in the teeth!, often swindling the very people who would make fun of him. He's rather intelligent, but keeps it well hidden, as he's well aware that he can get more benefit out of playing the lackwit dwarf. Thurgood is an atheist (after all, what kind of god would create someone like him), although he isn't particularly averse to praying to anything, if his life's on the line. He likes beer, women, money, and his monkey hat, and hates thursdays.

Vocation: Con-man

Skills: Convincing people to part with their money. He’s also quite small. Has a monkey hat. Can read and write, possibly forge banknotes. Also is the right height to headbutt people in the groin.

Belongings: Pen, coins, Monkey hat.

Paranormal skills: None
