I've tried ZH, YR, and TS and nothing has worked so far. ZH says serial number already in use when we try to connect. The network/LAN buttons don't even work with YR and TS. Is there anything I can do? My friend's coming over tommorow so I kinda need an answer before then.

Each copy of the game needs a different serial number. For YR and TS to work you need to install the IPX protocol on the computers.

Umm... I'm pretty sure RA2 doesn't use IPX anymore. And I even doubt TS still needs it. AFAIK the only ones that use it are C&C1 and RA1.

Don't bull**** people. You need separate keys for everyone.

Eh. It was really annoying when we tried to do a LAN for Generals with three discs.
It worked not!

I honestly have to ask. Do you have some sort of fetish with opening up old threads and posting mindless ****?

Right. You totally ****in' know everything.
I've done LAN parties with RA2. EVERYONE needs a separate CD-KEY. You cannot dupe them; it will not work.

Although I can't say much more about LAN using the same CD-KEY (if I do I might get banned), but it's totally possible I've done it before. Probably you tried it before XWIS, using WOL.

lol with RA2 you don't need LAN because it dosent boot you off the internet if someone from the same network logs in like in generals. Thus, you can play RA2/YR games over the internet even if you are in the same network. With TS and Generals, you have to Play LAN and you have to have different serials.
But no use arguing over it since the person who opened this thread asked this question OVER 7 MONTHS AGO.

So in theory. You could use one TFD disk to install YR to two computers and play LAN between them??

No, YR has always been a one disk expansion which requires you and your friends to have your own copy[unlike the orginal Command and Conquer, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, and Red Alert 2, all came with 2 disks and I believe that Westwood had even said that [at least LANwise] that you and another friend can use the same CD Key to play against each other]. However keep in mind those are the seperate games themselves and not the TFD collection[Did any of the other collection come with seperate disks for each game?], so unless either of you are willing to hunt down the orginal games, you're SOL on LAN probably.
