I heard that cnc 3 might be getting released for the xbox 360, your thoughts and ideas how the controls will be implemented?

1) It would suck

Agreed. Unless it came with a mouse controller:chin: . I wouldn't mind playing CnC on my big screen.

2) I doubt it would happen
Probably right, but they are coming out with Halo Wars, so who knows.

Such a game would probably have to go through alot of simplification to get it simple enough for the kiddies.

The 360 has 2 or 4 usb ports and is compatible with a keyboard, maybe microsoft will release a mouse to go with. There is already 2 rts titles for the 360 and the upcoming halo wars will make the 3rd title, so maybe cnc 3 will be made 4 the 360 as well who knows anything can happen as captain iraq said, giving u positive rep on that man.

Like I said. I sure hope so.

btw, What are those other two titles? I've only heard of two so far.

I just checked on 1UP.com and they said that BFME will be the test to see how rts will work out on the 360. They have been excited about a 'revolutionary' new control system.

Yeah, I'm personally hoping that EA will decide to release C&C3 for the Xbox360, or maybe the Wii, since the Wii 'nunchuck' controls might work pretty well in place of a mouse. Another reason I'm hoping for a console release is because my computer is a few years outdated, and it probably won't be able to play any of the new PC games coming out these days.

the specs needed to play cnc 3 on the pc shouldnt be much, as far as console goes i doubt cnc3 will be a "mega hit", but it will have modest gains the only major drawback is no editing or updates could be added to the game, so u will be stuck with it as is on the console

Not really. The XBox is capable of downloading new stuff for it's games like maps, skins, cars, guns, and such. They've already done this with Halo 2, Splinter Cell 3, Project Gotham Racing, just to name a few.

There's only lag on the PC if you don't set it up correctly and the PC is plenty advanced.

dosent really matter to me, its just that it would cost a lot more to upgrade my computer than to just buy a 360 with cnc 3 and other great games.

But you'ld also get an inferior game, with inferior online play, no mods, no maps, and you'll be lucky if it gets a single patch. You would be better off just waiting until you can get a new computer and then getting the game, you'ld be throwing your money away to buy the 360 version.

A long time ago I tried C&C on the Nintendo 64, but immediately brought it back to the shop for a refund. No way I'm going to play an RTS on a console. Vive le Pc!

mods and maps available from xbox live at the downloads section, besides the 360 has other great games that i like so i wouldnt really be throwing my money away.doesnt really matter to me we all hav our own opinions.

The mods and maps wouldn't include the excellent 3rd-party mods that you could get on the PC and this has nothing to do with other 360 games.

If put up any of that stuff (and its highly unlikely to begin with) you can expect to shell out $5-$10 per mod/map-pack, maybe more. Don't you just love microtransactions?

Like I said. They claim to have a revolutionary control system. They aren't that stupid...hopefully.:uhh:

I don't need to worry about that, which is why I don't have a PS3 or Wii or 360. I may get a 360 for the sole purpose of playing Halo 3, though.

itsd sumthing callled a mod chip and its kind of like an mp3 player or an ipod, u put 1 end into ur computer and the other in the mod chip, u download the map and than insert it into one of the usb ports on the xbox 360.u CAN download 3rd party mods.

Yes, it's possible but the mod would have to be made for the 360 first.

Cross-Platform RTSs aren't a smart idea. I doubt it'll get the sales or activity the PC version will get. It's clear the audience for this game is C&C fans, most of whom already have a computer. The only mildly successful one was probably RA for the PS, and it seemed that just convinced most people to go and buy the PC version.

Not that I have anything against console gamers, it's just that RTSs are a genre that belong on the PC, not the consoles that generally* focus on graphics and power.

*I know the Wiis got the emphasis on game play... but I don't care about the Wii. That's my opinion.

Bringing C&C3 to a console sounds like a smart idea to me, especially since my comp is too weak to run it!:irked:

If the demo ever appears on the market place - I'll grab it and see what I think. Probably not a good idea to dismiss it just cause it's on console, I mean yeah, it probably will be akward to control but hey - Costs nothing to find out.

Well in my opinion it's kinda stupid they're porting C&C3 to the Xbox 360.

Firstly, RTS is not meant for consoles, and two, hardcore 360 gamers who buy C&C3 will probably have no idea about the storyline, and if they ever wanted to find out about the storyline more, they'd go and get C&C and Tiberian Sun... but what if they don't have a PC? And they probably won't even care about what C&C and Tiberian Sun are like in the first place...
