I got banned.... during Christmas WTF?

No, not from the forums, from my complete internet connection :mad:

It was the first day of christmas, and my internet connection was gone, I got some page telling me there where difficultys on my ISP. So I waited it out a day.... still the same page... So I call the helpdesk, how I love the helpdesk... :gnasher:

Off course, during christmas, they are not available, so I waited another day, and I got someone on the phone telling me I had to check my modem connection (duh I've obviously for some reason might have disconnected it.... not) then check the modem settings, reset it and it would be back online.... not, So I called the helpdesk again (with the 26 menu you have to go to "if you are having technical difficulties press 1...." and so on). And I was helped by an employe telling me to check several settings on my modem... until he looks at my information and notices that I've been banned blocked for sending spam mail. All I had to do was send an e-mail (hello, what about my internet connection?) with a screenshot of my antivirus software wich would indicate I would have removed any virusses or programs wich could be the cause of this.

so yesterday I got to work and send the email, and today since 19.00 I've been back online :color1:

But the thing what pisses me off:
1: the fact they want me to send an email when I have no internet connection :wtf:
2: I got on the phone at a total of 45 minutes, costing me 20 cents per minute :flame:

Well, my intelligence is low, so I give in. Although, I'm not entirely sure what responding to each others' flames has to do with intelligence, but you clearly seem to know what you're talking about.

I'm also not too sure about where you get your logic from regarding this idea that just because the thread detoured from its orginal topic and turned into a flamewar (which is what happens to every topic in this forum), everyone is on the same intelligence level. There is a lot of ways things like that happen. For instance. A) Someone poorly flames the topic starter, and then, in turn, gets flamed, then all his buddies show up to help him, and blah blah blah big flame war. B) Everyone starts flaming the topic starter, then someone randomly flames somene else who posted in the thread just because they don't like them(...), then a flamewar starts. C[in the case of this thread]) For the first couple of posts, people agree with the topic starter, then someone randomly flames one of the posters in the thread, then everyone jumps on the person who randomly flamed someone. Then a flamewar starts as they try to defend themself.

Of course, there are many other ways for this stuff to start.

In short, what I'm trying to say is that it's not that everyone is on the same intelligence level, and it's not like everyone is randomly flaming one another. Instead, there are key individuals who are responsible for what happens to these threads (often the same person...), and a post like yours is the type of trash that is sometimes used to get the **** started.

Oh, and it's not that we're immature. Some people flame because they think it's funny, and some flame because it's necessary sometimes... a lot of times.
