Whiteboy's Rules V1.5 RELEASED!

Today... I decided to release my YR mod. I can happily announce that the painfully delayed Whiteboy's Rules V1.5 Preview edition is now available for download in my Downloads section (http://wbr.strategy-x.com/downloads.php). Please enjoy the mod but remember two things: READ THE README FILE included with it, and keep in mind that this edition only has limited documentation.

There will be a full-on User Manual developed as soon as possible for release in the final edition of V1.5, most of which will be available to read online at http://wbr.strategy-x.com. Apart from documentation, the differences between the Preview and final editions of V1.5 will be ideally none, but likely very subtle.

This mod is one of the best you can play. No, Whiteboy didn't bribe me, I was a tester and have seen this mod develop over a period of 10 years :p.

I know the site's lacking detailed descriptive comments. That's why the mod's released as a "Preview". It gives me time for documentation and any necessary bugfixing before I release the final version.

You are not necessarily right about "most" people, however. In my experience, "most" people actually forget about any readme files and just jump in. It's sad, really. Anyway, there is loads of information in the WR Forum and there will of course be a full "User Manual" as I like to call it soon... that will be packaged with the mod when players choose "Read Manual" on the launcher. And much information in that manual will be available online from the WR site to read before people download it.

Sure, I could have released it later. But it would be quite a bit later. And this mod has already missed several Xmas deadlines... you have no idea how much I have been nagged/begged/threatened to release it before people get bored of waiting and move on... ;)

Thanks guys. It took me about 4 years. On the surface though, it's hard to see just how deep it goes. There are so many edits here and there that most people will not notice them... for example most people will never even use the "classified" units because they are so hard to get... that's why I'm writing up a huge "user manual" which details everything about the mod.

You my friend ... is genius :) .... I enjoyed ur 1.5 mods very much... Superb Quality... I've been using many but I found ur mods are more enjoyable to play with.... I purposely join this community to personally thank you... Can't wait for the complete final version ....

Thanks! I know this thread is ancient but I wanted to give people a small update: the "Preview" label has been removed from the mod and it's now simply the final version. The Strategy-X website has gone down so the mod can now be found either on my angelfire site http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/whiteboysrules.

Once again thank you for all the support I got for this mod. I still get people emailing me sometimes about Whiteboy's Rules. It's been a great run but now I am finished with it. I will still keep an eye on the website though.

And who knows, Red Alert 3 is coming soon...
