As those who have downloaded the recently released C&C3: Tiberium Wars Playable Demo (http://www.cncden.com/cnc3_demo.shtml) have had the chance to play around with it, I've created two new forums for new types of discussions that will no-doubt arise from now on. :) Head on over to the C&C3: Tiberium Wars Tactics (http://forums.cncden.com/forumdisplay.php?f=51) to show off how much you own, or to C&C3: Tiberium Wars Modding (http://forums.cncden.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52) to start stretching those imaginations on how to change the game!

Sounds good man. Interesting to see what new strategies will be thought up. :)

You picked the right time to do it. We should be able to get some decent skirmish discussions in before the game is released.

Or maybe they're just smart so they know they can reuse old data to save time and money

Lmao. Westwood's voxel engine was constantly updated since the original, and its filled to the brim with recycled and leftover coding as of YR. It's not a problem to use some old stuff if it made an effective game out of the old engine.

I would've wanted EA to just make a nicer engine at least up to par with some of the other big RTSs, but I guess this one gives us good quality considering C&Cs traditionally have never had population caps.

This is hands down one of the best RTS engines out there, the SAGE engine is really incredible, its over five years old but through regular updates its still amazing. Where the SAGE engine really blows the competition away is effects, no other RTS engine has effects as good (orca heat distortion = ). The models aren't as good as game like CoH, but there are more units on screen and you're looking at them from further away. Of course, if you really want to see the full glory of CNC3 you will need a good computer to run it on max settings.

I think the engine is public, too. I've got the entire engine in a big installation program and a huge zip of tutorials on how to use it. I made a little animation of a tree swaying, but stopped when I realized I suck with Blender.

PS: Running the game in sli with setting marks set to max looks great. How odd that they used the same data from general as they are for cnc3. Seems the info is not all that good for playing online, maybe the old codes was a dream for EA to use and get away with it, alot of bitching over on EA server for the patch to fix online play with C&C 3....CHEERS

Question to MooMan (or any staff/"in-the-know" dude): any plans for a "C&C3 Tech Support" forum? I've got some debilitating bug with my game that keeps me from playing any skirmish longer than 3 minutes (nevermind multiplayer or campaigns) before crashing to the desktop.
I've already submitted a support question to EA about it, but by the time their response sails back on a supertanker from China, we'll be out of Iraq and Reborn will be on their first beta test.
Something tells me that y'all would give me some good advice a bit quicker.

For tech issue discussion for any games, including C&C3, you can do that in the Computer and Technical Support (http://3) section.
