I wan't get Supreme Commander, and i read the minimal system spacs, what do you think, by the looks it will run, but will it run well?

(Non-Bold = Minimum Requierments)
(Bold = Klex11's Computer)

* Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, Vista
Me: Windows XP Media center Edition 2005

* 1.8 GHz processor
Me: 1.8 GHz AMD Sempron 3100+ (W/ 256kb L2 Cache & 1600MHz system Bus)

* 512 MB RAM
Me: 512MB DDR SDRAM

* 8GB available hard drive space
Me: i got over 50Gigs free as of now

* 128MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support
Me: nVidia GeForce 6100 GPU (it does not say what the cache is, but i looked it up, and it said it was a motherboard)

* Sound card, speakers or headphones
Me: i'm good here

* 56.6 Kbps Internet connection required
Me: I checked and Clocked in at 511.6 KiloBits PerSecond (BTW,what is the connection for?)

so if i could get some help on this, i would realy appriciate it :)

Sorry man, not a hope in hell of it running well. Theres people with far more powerful rigs that ive seen whining about performance slowing to a crawl. Sup com ideally should have a dual core cpu and a pretty beefy graphics card, 6800 Ultra and up is what i would recommend.

Although on the bright side it will almost definately run! :)

Runs like a dog on my system, with A64 3000+, 1gb ram, 6600GT

Yep. Ironically, when I bought my nVidia 8800 GTS (superclocked) 640mb Card, I got a free copy of Supreme Commander. :D

Good news is, most of your system should be enough to run SupCom, at least.

Bad news is, the 6100 is an IGP - an integrated graphics processor. Like all graphics processors of its kind, the 6100 unfortunately offers very weak performance. I'm not so sure, but with the 6100 you'll only be able to comfortably run recent games at very low, even minimum, quality settings.

Moreover, the 6100 shares memory with your system (it has no 'cache', or rather video RAM of its own, like all IGPs). That means your available system memory when using the 6100 is actually less than 512 MB, and that's bad.

I WAS WONDERING WHY IT ONLY SAID 3##MB OF RAM WAS BEING USED!

i have a nVidia GeForce (somthing) 64MB card from my old computer, would i benfiet from installing that?

If it has 64 MB only then I think it's either a GeForce 3 or 4 series card. The only benefit you'd get from that is freeing all that memory that 6100 have been using. However, the GeForce 3 and 4 series are ancient cards. Even though they're discrete cards unlike your 6100, they're still far slower because of their older architecture. So your 6100 is still better.

If you can't really upgrade your video card now, I'd just suggest you get a cheap 256 MB RAM for your 6100 to use, and get the full 512 MB for the rest of your system. That would surely speed up your system.

to be fair you mose well get the whole 512mb upgrade, 1gb of memory is really a minimum.

but overall you'd need to upgrade the entire computer to get supcom to run well, expensive business!

Might as well try it. If its a geforce 2, dont bother. If its a geforce 3, worth a try, if its a geforce 4 Ti (not an mx, mx's are hopeless at games) then definately try it. Although the geforce 4's are old it may still run games better than that integrated solution.

Yeah integrated is definetaly not the way to go. I have a ATI Xpress 200. It ran CNC3 pretty well on all low settings, but sup com, NO CHANCE IN HELL.
