View Full Version : Getting music from a movie...

There's this song I really like in a movie, that I cannot find anywhere. So I am left with the option of getting it off of the movie file itself. So aside from the rather dubious option of holding a microphone to the speakers while its playing, does anyone know how I can record this song?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What movie is it?

Demon Hunter. There's a song near the beginning by Jenifer McLaren called 'Army of One.'

Crap. I couldn't find it either. And I looked everywhere (numerous torrent sites, p2p, newsgroups...and others)
Try this link (http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-audio-ripper.html) though. That program might work.

Yeah I've been trying pretty much everywhere I can think of too, but no dice.
I'm trying that program, but I can't seem to get it to work. Might just be my computer ineptitude, but I think it wants an IFO file, which this movie isn't. Do you know how it works?
EDIT: Using Windows Movie Maker, I've managed to edit the video file down the length of the song. So now I have a three minute file that includes both audio and video. I only need to cut the video out now.

Is the video you made... an avi or an mpg?

Hmm, I'm not sure. I think it's MPEG but when I check the properties it's just listing it as a Winamp Media File.

Before it is closed though, I feel I should add that wthigon really went above and beyond the call of duty on this one ^^
He is extremely awesome.
