I've been involved in the C&C Community for over 10 years now, and I must admit that I have NEVER been as excited about the release of a game as I am with Command & Conquer 3. From what I can see, it's got everything going for it. Once the SDK is released, we should have a thriving modding community, and with the World Builder Editor, we'll have lots of maps. I love to create maps, and I know a lot of you do as well. Heck, I've already got plans worked out for my first couple maps I'll be releasing once I get my hands on the editor. I'm hoping some of my DEN map staff will join me as well. Anyhoot, what will really set C&C3 apart from the crowd is BattleCast and online play. It's too early to tell if there's enough to elevate Command & Conquer to the top of the RTS community, but it's looking good so far. If this C&C3 spectator-sport idea takes hold, and I know peeps do love to be entertained, then the sky is the limit. Without sounding like a C&C fanboy, is everyone else as excited as I am about C&C3, and do you think this is the start of something great for our beloved C&C Community? Sound off soldier!

I hate to admit it but this is the FIRST game that I have actually pre-ordered, and ordered the more expensive (Kane) edition! :hyper: Usually I will wait for the hype to cool off and then buy it when it is cheaper. If we are able to make maps for it I know I will get my monies worth out of it. I am definitely looking forward to next weekend. :hyper:

Nuts! The previous thread was closed while I was typing my post, so I will post it here. (sorry for being slightly off topic)

Lion, take a look at my sig and that should give you a good idea of what you might need for your new rig. I Just upgraded back in August, and am satisfied with the current build.

1GB of ram should be enough for starters, sine thats all I'm using and heave yet to encounter any problems with recent games.

I got my AM2 4200 x2 for $185 on NEwegg back in August, but its now only $110. The M2N- SLI is a great motherboard, and the Pny 7600GT works ok.

However, you might want to avoid the problems I had when upgrading. I managed to fry my motherboard and processor, so they had to be replaced by buying new parts. I never figured out the exact cause of the problem, but the local computer store suspected it was a faulty motherboard or memory issue.

Since replacing the board/ processor almost right away, the system has worked fine, provided I disable the dual channel mode on my memory. Having dual channel mode enabled scews up the system and you can't load or install the operating systems.

The first game after The First Decade looks very promising. I would like a golden Second Decade for C&C! (gawd, that made me think about my age again)

Yup i hardly preorder stuff too but i just couldn't resist having to wait and to go to the store to buy it so i bought it off of the EA Link since the demo downloaded quite fast on there. Now i just need to wait too :(. Just a few more days and i can play it!

Lion,

I have been in the community since TD. Although I have drifted in and out over the years. I just received the strat. guide today. I have not been this excited about a game since TS was hyped as 1998's biggest game...but we all know it never really lived up to the expectations? At any rate, it is nice that a game can get a person over 40 pumped up. Looking forward to next week. Thanks for all the updates and hard work you have put into this and your other sites. :)

I'm very excited about the game. I will be at Bestbuy when the doors open on Tuesday the 27th. Anyone know what the difference is between C&C 3 and the C&C 3 Kane edition.

i am a bit disappointed with the Demo myself so i wont go all nuts here, i hope the full game will change my opion tho. there is really notting left for those that aren't rushers by nature. after the SP i cant see myself playing it that long.

I just hope it's truly balanced. Personally, I'm a little more of a Red Alert nut, but the Soviets got stacked against something fierce in RA2 and YR.

Patience can only hold out for so long, though even with the demo. Nothing new 'till Tuesday.

They'd better give you the full tech tree by mission... three. Rail guns are too beautiful to not have in your arsenal at day one.

I think this game will come out fine for the most part. I won't be as great as the older days of C&C, but it's going to be nice. I think the community will treat this as they've done with every game before this- initially a lukewarm reception and eventually excepting it.

At least you get to play the game - all I can do is sit by and watch you play since my comp can't run it.

Calm down Redux...your starting to hyperventilate! :D

I was not starting to hyperventilate when I made that post, but now I am because I just visited the website of the store where I reserved my game and they have a section all about C&C3 stating that it will be available in the 27th and they will also have the Kane edition and if you buy one of those you will get freebies like a GDI or NOD themed tee shirt and cap, a C&C3 sling bag, C&C3 tumbler and a C&C3 poster......I will get a GDI themed one :hyper:.

My only problem with this game so far is it's TOO good. I know, it's not an actual problem, but I've gotten my father hooked on C&C. He's big on comp stomping, and we play network YR all the time.
Unless we're willing to shell out a thousand bucks, this is going to be a single-computer affair, since the older one probably wouldn't do well.
Speaking of mapmaking... Are more still being added to RADEN, or is that on hold for a few months while you break in C&C3?

Obviously I'm concentrating on CNCDEN and C&C3 for the time being. There are thousands of maps on RADEN to choose from. Not a shortage of maps, that's for sure...I still accept maps and will post them on RADEN as time permits.

Well my comp is not the best but I'm upgrading in a month or so and will buy C&C 3 then. And you can count on it when I say I will mod and map the hell out of it.

Prepare to be MAP-PACKED! :D

I've been making maps for myself for a while now. They usually suck, but end up being fun somehow. Maybe I'll make my first serious map and upload for Lion.
