This is my very first voxel and it still needs some improving

Please give some response. I really want to know how I did on itIn the game it is able to hold a tank in it that can fire out and is basically a souped up apocalypse. The turret does move, so please do not ask.

(This was made because I just got my the voxel editor to work and I saw that these forums were very silent )
(it was not from scratch. I souped up the apoc voxel:D)

I think it looks cool, but it is a little too much like the apocalypse(basically an overlord sized version of it, if u play generals) but for ur first I think it looks cool(I'm not really one to speak though, I dont even have a voxel editor yet!)

Fail. I know it's harsh but that thing is god-awful. The normals are way off, the design is atrocious, the colors are messy and poorly done... it needs to br crisp and clean with good details and remaps. None of which your 'voxel' has... or even comes close to.
Take a little more time in your efforts and study the Westwood design. If you can get the design and detailing right, you'll be better off. You could even start by working on C+P voxels...

Fenring I think your wrong. I have seen mods with FAR worse Voxels than that, infact thats better than alot that I have seen. Besides, I haven't evan seen your voxels yet.

I don't make voxels. And if you think that voxel was good, you need to have your eyes checked... or you need to hit up PPM/YR Arg more often.

Indeed.

OK. Fenring, i hold you in high respect, but please do not say unkind things to anyone but me. And it is called CONSTRUCTIVE critiscism, so please, can you tell me what would be a good improvment to it:happysad:...

Look at it yourself and compare it to a Westwood creation. Your colors are very dull, which means you have flat surfaces or your normals are horrendous. Either one is possible in this case.
The barrels are too thick and sloppy looking, like you slapped them on without paying much attention to fluidity. The edges are bumpy is what I'm getting at here.
That blue, uh, thing is way out of place. It doesn't need to be there and if it was meant to be something else, try using different colors. I'd remove it entirely but that's just me.
The scale is too big. It's not a bad thing but it will look funky rolling out of a war factory. If it's a crate only unit, it's not an issue.

In other words, it needs some work... a lot of work. Just keep at it though. Not everyone produces a wonder on their first try.

i know im kinda a newbie at voxel making too, what do you mean by "the normals are off"?

normals are the gray things that determine the voxel brightness. I think all the normals on this one are correct, lemme check...

... 7.5 minutes later ...

...ya, they all look fine to me... except ... nope. They look just fine to me.

and as a side question, how do you make a unit work as a projectile?

Stop posting. :|

And what gray things are you talking about?

when i asked what normals are corsarus said : "normals are the gray things used to determine voxel brightness." im just wondering what he meant be "the gray things"
