Lion's Daily Blurb - Monday, March 26

Today Command & Conquer 3 ships to retail stores and those of you who have pre-ordered the game in North America. Some countries such as China and Taiwan have already received the game and are playing. Other countries in the world will get their shipments this week as well. I pre-ordered from Gamestop, and when I stopped by on Saturday to pick up a copy of the Prima Strategy Guide for C&C3, they told me I could pick up my game on Tuesday. I have to work on Tuesday, so I won't get it till late afternoon. No big deal, as I've waited since 1999 for the next chapter in the Tiberian Universe. There isn't as much hype surrounding C&C3 as compared to Tiberian Sun, but the excitement is there nonetheless. My hope is that the game does justice to the C&C Franchise.

Its currently 6pm over here, and if the Datablitz website (the store) is correct then I will have the game by 12 in the afternoon tommorow at the 27th and then I will get one of those Kane editions and get the freebies, a GDI or NOD themed baseball cap and shirt, C&C3 poster, C&C3 sling bag and C&C3 tumbler, it may not be good enough for you guys but that is good enough for me :hyper:.

I've to wait until the 29th(if I'm lucky), I guess its the price to live in Europe, well, back at Mexico I'll have to wait 5 days after release for the preorder to arrive at my home.

As Lion said, if I've waited all this years... I sure can wait a few days more... I'll just have to isolate myself from the community until I got my hands on the game.:cry:

I agree that the hype-level is less for this one than TS though that
may prove to be a good thing ultimately. I am thinking that C & C 3 is
something of a "sleeper" atm and only after it has reached full release
this week and is in people's hard-drives will it become apparent just
how awesome this new installment is. I personally believe this new one
is soon to become known as the best in the series thus far in a very
short period of time. As any rate,we shall all have the game soon and it's
a great time to be a C&C fan :) Happy Gaming !

I remember the cover of PC Gamer for TS...it said 1998's Biggest Game! Of course we all know it was not released until 1999 and was a big flop compared to the hype. There is hype with this game, it is just more subtle. I have been playing the demo and have been experimenting with different strategies. Also, I have all of the graphics cranked up to the highest settings. This game has a lot of potential in terms of story, graphics, playability and strategy. I don't think it will just be a spam fest of one unit type and then rush? A lot of the previews I have read are saying the same thing. I like the demo better than Generals and Zero Hour. I should have the game sometime tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait. Remember, who cares what the critics say...good or bad...buy the game and decide for yourself. You're only out $50...you won't have to sell your car or skip college by buying the game. I just have a gut feeling this is going to be the best C&C to date and will easily sell one million units world-wide in the first week.

And so the meaningless C&C3 vs. Supcom escalates to a full scale war as they batte for higher ratings and higher copies sold.....I do not care much about that just give me my freaking copy already I know it will be out tommorow but I cannot take it :hyper:.

Typically games dont hit here until Wednesday of the week, but sometimes we get lucky, so hopefully it will be in tomorrow. I preordered the Kane edition at Gamestop. CircuitCity has the Kane edition for $10 cheaper, so I plan to get them to pricematch. :D

Meh, ratings don't really matter to me right now. The demo was between decent and excellent for me, and I liked it.

Don't know if it can rightly be called a "stupid game" though. I'd like to see him play a brutal AI.

I was predicting this'd be rated between an 80-90ish when everything was averaged. Most of them are probably going to read as such.

"Fun and quick RTS, but no innovation when compared to ____ (Insert CoH or Sup-Com).

I really honestly think regardless of ratings, this game will manage to be a great multi-play game in general.

I pre-ordered copy at Gamestop (Favor for a friend who works there), and I'll either get it tomorrow or Wednesday. They haven't called me today.

just picked up my copy of the kane edition from the university post office. 52259 of 100,000 is sitting on my desk right now...
now, if i can somehow finish those papers by tonight....
