Annoying selection shadow

hi, I just got the collector's edition of this awesome game....so far im just tweaking it to gain the maximum candy from my low-end system and I have to say that Im impressed how good this game runs...

however, after I raised some of the video-settings to higher quality , a crappy team-coloured selection circle appears around troops I select...there's no way to remove it (other than lowering the detail...)...it looks soooo ugly....

I just want the health bars...


Also...
how can I select the difficulty for the campaigns?
There's no Scrin Campaign?

Scrin campaign comes once you've completed the Nod/GDI campaigns.

The difficulty can be selected when actually playing - Before you play the mission it gives you choice of Easy - Brutal.

nope, when I start both campaign I get no difficulty selection....is it normal?

Also... I see no "blackened" Scrin campaign button...will it appear only after I complete both GDI & NOD ones?

Yhe about the silly crappy team-coloured selection circle i got that when i turned my grafics up past high setting onto Ultra settinings,so in other words just turn your Grafics down. Hope that helps.:)

What about the difficulty setting?
I just press the campaign button, watch the cheesy fmv and then Im tright into battle...where can I choose the difficulty??

There is no difficulty setting for the prologue. However, there is for the rest of the missions. Click on the mission you want and select difficulty at the bottom.

if you want to remove the selection circles without lowering the other graphics, choose the overall setting you want, then set the "decal detail" to the lowest one. the selection circles won't appear, but the health bars still will.

also, to clarify what the person above me said, when you click on a mission on the map, the save/load/menu bar at the bottom will be replaced with one that allows you to change the difficulty.
