Now that we have units with the specific ability to detect cloaked units, do you think it's fair that units without this ability can also detect cloaked units up close too?

It's rather annoying having your stealth tank division being routed out by a group of riflemen >.>

Na not relly because it whould be a bit silly if a man like a meter away from a stelth unit couldent here the sound of its engine or see the slight distorsion in the space it was in.:)

I'd at least be happy if they made it so riflemen can't detect mines by close proximity though >.>

It's still okay, mines hit when they aren't looking some of the times... or something.

Gah cloaking is absolutely horrendous, it's the truth. They're trying to make it unusable in normal combat, and only for sneaky tactics.

Which is good. Getting killed by DTs because my comsat hasn't charged doesn't make sense. "OMG someone is cutting me, but I can't shoot him because I don't know where he is!"
