I had a busy weekend, but did get a chance to play two games of C&C3 online. I won one and lost one. The one I lost was the most unusual game I have ever played. The dude rushed me with his Nod MCV! Yes, I know, very embarrassing for me to say the least, but who the heck preps for something like that. He built one power plant, packed up his MCV, then headed right for my base. At first I didn't know what the heck it was. Looked like a BIG bug to me. About two minutes later my base was gone, duh. Anyhoot, I have a replay to prove I wasn't dreaming, and will post it up in the news in a day or two when I get some time to do so.

Wow, I used to do the same thing on Red Alert with the soviets and Tesla coils!

I am going to try that one tonight when I get home. I would have never thought of trying that. But LION I gotta ask where were you defenses? Or did it happen before you could build anything?

Has anyone had any any problems setting up a LAN yet? We tried setting one up this weekend and it recognized the players only. We tried creating a game and nothing. I don't want to try the patches because right now everything else is working great. :chin:

I wish somebody made an effort to attack me. Im so-far undefeated (3 games) with scrin

basically what I learned is DO NOT let the enemy expand especially scrin. If you let the scrin expand... you will be crushed.

That strategy is on the kane edition. Except its that they build a crane then pack up and construct a barracks so once it deploys they fling out a bunch of nod troops at you.

Replay is posted on the CNCDEN news page, but you can download it from here also. Download it (in a zip file), then unzip it and place the replay file in your My Documents, C&C 3, Replay folder.

Download MCV rush replay HERE (http://www.cncden.com/cnc3_replays/lion_cnc3replay.zip).

That was great Lion. Never would have suspected that. Just another reason to have a few defenses up. ;)

Me and two of my friends have been playing 3v3s all day and I took a short break and checked this website. They then asked me to come back and play with them again, so we set up another 3v3. My buddy MasterSwanny started in the middle and played like normal. Me and Sorcerlator did the Nod MCV rush and the results....see for yourself.

There was no time for base defenses...and besides, your not gonna take out an MCV with a couple base defenses. If you watched the replay, you would have seen the very limited time I had to react.

Quiet Wreckmeister! :D

And Neogumbercules, very nice replay. I watched it. Now everyone will be trying out the MCV rush...hehe. Best way to combat it is to just have an engie on standby in your base as soon as ya build a barracks. I can't wait for the next dude who tries to pull it on me.

Darn, that's a lame way to win. Oh well, I think Lion won't let that happen to him again.

Now I'll be sure to keep an engie on hand in my base for situations like this. I'd love to see the look on the guy's face if I sell his construction yard.

Poor Lion... he got Raped :/ Shoulda built an Engi when you seen the nose of the MCV and not that squad of Rocket men :P

Yea, I know in hindsight I should have built the engie. But when a HUGE, overgrown bug has just made it's way into your base of ops, and it's totally unexpected, it's kinda hard to think. I was just play testing the new patch. And like ya said, I got raped.

Well, at least you know now what to do in case that shuld happen again.

(Still, that was hilarious. All I can imagine is Lion all "O ****! WTF? HAX!" :p)

Hey LION got to watch the replay this morning! You got owned! I would have done the same thing. (not thinking about an engi).:tantrum: Glad it was you who took it in the shorts for all of us to learn what not to do.

I had to get the patch before I could watch the replay. Took about 2 hours on dial up. That's why I was waiting until they could get all the patches done, then download from work.
