hot to get downloaded skermish maps to work?

i downloaded some free .maps for my generals and extracted in the game folder called maps but can't seen to find it when i open the game and go into unofficial maps. Any help for a noob please ? where should i put these files

Make sure that you put the map file in a folder with the EXACT same name as the map, then put that folder iMy Doucuments/ C&C Generals [Zero Hour]/Maps
