Just when I thought spring was finally here, Mother Nature pulls a 180 on me. Earlier in the week temps hit 82 degrees, and I had the air conditioner running in my truck. By the weekend temps are to dip below freezing, with snow flurries in the forecast. My plans for breaking out the barbecue grill will have to be put on hold for now. Heck, I even put away my winter coat for the season. I suppose I'll just stay indoors for the next few days and try and finish up playing the missions for C&C3. I haven't completed the GDI missions yet, and haven't even started on the Nod campaign. I've been mostly playing skirmish to familiarize myself with all the new maps that came with the game. My fav maps are Redzone Rampage with it's bountiful supply of Tiberium fields and special lighting effects, and Tournament Arena for it's simplicity and fast in-your-face gaming.

Lion, can you share the weather? It is hot down here in Texas...

Enjoy the CNC3!

Yeah wish I had some snow flurries here too! The weather has been warm 74 with overnight lows in the 50's. It makes the grass grow and weeds too! So I have been spending my weekends trimming weeds and mowing lawns. (I don't like yard work).

Anyways, I got to Cologne with the GDI (on normal) and the Scrin are just overwhelming me. So I went and played a skirmish with me being the Scrin and I have to admit they have very strong units. I wanted to find out their weaknesses. So far they are too strong. and I don't know if it is a balance issue yet, too early to tell. :chin:

Played a LAN game last night and all worked fine. :hyper:

Last weekend, we had rain and fog, with mild wind and decent tempts, but it did a 180 on Tuesday. We got about 1 foot of snow and tons of wind over a 24 hour period. Went to bed Monday night and woke up to a snow storm Tuesday morning. :|

Though I suppose it makes up for the fact Duluth, MN went most of the winter without much snow until that big blizzard a few weeks ago.

In order to beat the Cologne mission, you gotta capture the power station on the west side of the bridge in order to bleed off the attacks longs enough for you to expand to the blue tib field just south of your base. If your defenses have survived up to that point, then see if you can't expand your base nearby the power plant with some anti-air and anti infantry.

As for the air waves that the Scrin get... well, there's really nothing you can do to stop them other than destroying the Scrin MCV and gravity stabilizer, but if it gets too hot, then try spamming firehawks and pitbulls until the heat dies down a bit. And whatever you do, don't use mammoths on that mission, other for base defense, cause the terrain there is absolute murder for a big vehicle like that. (and the carriers pretty much pwn the mammoths anyways)

BTW, you could also set up the firehwaks to patrol the areas where the air power keeps rolling in (in my game it was at the highway to the far west, not too far from the Scrin base); that should really help to bleed off some of those damn carriers.;)

Thanks Sarge... yeah my mammoths were getting chewed pretty fast especially after I tried attacking the Scrin base with them. Then there wasn't enough Tiberium to rebuild. I lost big time after the ensuing air raid.

Yeah the snow was quite a shocker. I like a few of the skirmish maps, but overall I find them all way too symmetrical....no substance or creativity behind them, though. I find that annoying.
