I want to know if this lags on a more powerful computer. Go play the tutorial or a skirmish against an easy AI, and pump out riflemen, 130+ and tell me if it lags. This is with all settings on full including AA.

I have:
Opteron 170 dual core @ 2.0ghz
2GB ram
7900GTO

It lags for me with that many infantry, i think theres about 700 odd on screen with 130 squads. Fair enough though thats a LOT of troops to render :p Anyone with a better comp get smoother performance?

Are you sure it's not the AA and shadows that is decreasing performance?

130 squads = 650 soldiers.

I dont know maybe, its not like i usually build that many infantry :P just wondered if a more powerful comp would have less lag. Probably is AA and shadows.

can you imagine the amount of poly's the engine has to render for all those infantry, AND doing some calculation for AA too, and doing the AI, and filling all those textures for all those infantry

you might just be expecting a bit too much from your computer

besides, who in gods name would create 130 infantry squads to spam the enemy with?

Yes i know, but i didnt expect no lag at all, im not complaining or anything just curious if a better rig would still lag. Because 8800's are quite a bit more poweful than the previous 7xxx generation, and the core 2's are much better than my opteron, even at the same ghz, and most are faster than 2.0ghz.

2.4gig dual core
8800gtx
2gig ram

Yes it does :D

31 riflemen
42 rocket men
20 grenadiers
20 zone troopers

Computer defiantly started dragging with all these guys on the screen at the same time.
