This is best for late game when basicly building stuff is slowed down. very simple build a guntower ready to build if you see a commando in ur base just place em and hes fried; place it far enough so he can't blow it before the guntower kills him.
most times the commando is bright in with airtrasport its best to make anti-air turret or a firehawk with anti-air missles around ur base.
Also with the MCV, if you see a commando or engiener about to destroy/capture ur conyard; REPACK IT! this will prevent them from blowing it with c4 or capuring it.
put a Sniper into a APC, pick up the APC with an air trasport. put the trasport above your conyard or the middle of your base. the sniper will shoot any inf that comes into your base, including masterminds and commandos.

usually I spam some infantry in my base, if I hear unit lost without being attacked @ front or attacking myself I know there is something loose in my base

I can imagine the Walls being REALLY helpful against the Scrin's early game strats (can't say the same about their late game though):hmm:

Show me a replay between two competant players with a successful engineer rush.

Ok CNC Red Alert and CNC Red Alert 2 are right. On the last two it actually goes CNC 95 (Tiberian Dawn) and CNC Tiberian Sun. What he said was competant players. If you are really good one of the last things your going to think about using is an engi rush, unless your going up against a newb.

never said anything about the competence of the players... and remember your talking to a paranoid noob

I asked for a replay in the CNC3 section. What do you think? :rockbrow:

Use your head.

Wow. An AI doesn't count as a "competant player". So, skirmish is automatically out of the question.

it's not the engierush I'm worried about, it is the engies being teleported in, using one of those masterminds or that friggin wormhole, and not being able to put a decent wall eround my HQ, that's what worries me

ánd sometimes I want my base to look good, plane and simple. I loved creating megalarge Uberbases in TS, just for fun

thats why i have a sniper in a APC picked up by a air trasport and left in the middle of my base. its anti- commando, an inf, zone troops, and ofcourse mastermind with wormhole. ;)

Still, I rather miss walls. They could be...entertaining.

I remember in Red Alert, I'd order a technician to attack something. If he ran away, I'd build a wall and have a fireing squad. :D

I think walls really gave TS, RA, and RA2 some personality, just sitting back and building walls, walls, walls was fun :D

thats a great tactic...

you know what is even more fun? putting some black hand into an apc, and lifting the apc using airtransport...

flying flame thing with extreme low armour (never tried it before though) (and I should really do)

i dont even know if that works. i never tried it before. even if it did it would have short range.Still, I rather miss walls. They could be...entertaining.

If XML.files allow overrides and i get good at overriding them, i may be able to let you guys build walls without a mod, you would just have to play some of my maps. ;) we will see though.
