View Full Version : Anyone find the NOD ending...

*Spoiler alert*

.....Lame? After the endings of both Dawn and Sun, I was expecting a bit more. Something that would involve Kane (my childhood hero) doing a little something more than walking around the side of a set, between two prop walls. It's cool that he speaks of the inner circle and all, but the ending had that "thrown together at the last moment" feel. Kane being one of my top 3 favorite characters of any game, book, movie, short story, etc. I was just really disappointed to see him just look away from me and walk behind a prop wall. Also, leaving some mystery is good, but dang, that's a lot of questions to be answered! The final movie for NOD just had less feel to it than the briefings, the movie just fell into the rest and blended in. It made me feel like, even though I beat the whole NOD campaign, that I hadn't accomplished anything.

Thoughts? Comments?:chin:

Well, on the plus side, it leaves it very open for an expansion/sequel. And the Scrin campaign practically guarrentees us more. I agree though, I would have liked to see what would have happened if they'd actually tried to use the tower. Plus it doesn't really answer any of the questions about Kane or Nod.

The way the story was presented this time around was much different. Rather than the GDI and Nod plot lines which would spawn different endings, all the stories were put together to make a complete story.

I was hoping for a more interesting ending, but they'll probably stick it in an expansion and tie things up.
After all, when the Scrin learn about Kane, they state that they already had him in the database..., and when they freak out hearing that "they're" travelling to the hub, probably meaning Kane. They promise a huge invasion.

This is odd for a C&C, as we usually tied up the story in each game and introduce a sub-plot in the expansion, but they want to continue this into the expansion. That's the way EA rolls though.

Yeah, because I was thinking back to Dawn, where Kane actually let you choose the first target for the Ion cannon.

Admittedly, I haven't beaten/played the GDI campaign yet, much less the Scrin (for obvious reasons). So I'm still hoping that we see Kane again, but in something much more grand.

I agree so much, I was really dissapointed :(

It was too weak for a video that shouldn't even give to much answers.

But still, we'll probably get more answers when the expansion comes out.

With hope. Honestly though, the biggest thing that bugged me was the lack of feel that the video had. It was one of the shorter videos and didn't pack any punch like an ending video should.

Like I said, after beating the whole campaign, I just still didn't feel like I accomplished anything. Just prop walls, bright light, then main menu. Quite an empty feeling really.

i think you guys are geting a bit to spoiled, like come on. would you rather have nothing at all to play? in cnc3 its just the story going on into the Xpack which will be good because everyone now will want it.

If you're looking for storyline, you'll get the most out of the Nod/Scrin campaigns. The GDI one doesn't really tell you much, but obviously you need to play it to get to the Scrin. Which is well worth doing.

alot of unanswered questions really

they may even leave it open for a forth game, now thats a good thing as far as gaming goes but sucky for the story

Spoiled? When you buy a car, do you expect it to have A/C? Should you just consider yourself lucky if you get it?

Well I'm really hoping that the Scrin campaign surprises and impresses me, we'll see.

Ah, I see what you're doing, it's that old old mistake of mixing up computer games and cars. I seriously recommend that you google those two things, otherwise you could be in real trouble trying to put a speeding car into your CD drive.

Seriously though, that's a really unfair comparison to make. When you buy a car, you want to know exactly what you get with it. Firstly 'cos it's a big investment and secondly 'cos it could be pretty dangerous if you're missing a steering wheel. When you buy a game, you want to know where the story is gonna take you, otherwise you loose alot of the value of the campaign. And in this case, the developers have chosen to leave the story unconcluded for now.

I dunno about surprise and impress, but it's definately designed to tell you about the scrin and why they're here.

My biggest hobby is cars; don't worry about me confusing anything. It surprises people when I'm not in or under my car. Google SVT.

The point was, it seems a bit strange to say that we are spoiled with a certain aspect of a game, when we are the ones paying for it, and are the ones who have been impressed before.

Was anyone else expecting him to introduce you to the Inner Circle, which turns out to be a bunch of aliens?

I swear, I was really expecting that to be the surprise twist
