I saw the Mammoth today when playing a FFA with Stompy et al., haven't seen the Titan yet.

I didn't even notice either of those... better'd keep a better eye out later.

The Mammoth Mk2 is at the top right of the center tiberium field on Rocktagon. Not sure where the Titan is.

Is it me, or is that the Scrin Mothership power on the second unit picture on that YTMND? I don't think this is a tribute, I think this is a teaser trailer for the beginnings of a mod. I know that it is unlikely, but this could be the beginning plans of a mod.

That would be cool, wouldn't it? :D

Yes and No. That is the Scrin Mothership you see, but this isn't a mod. These are in-game objects representing the destroyed hulks of TS unit.

Ahhhh...okay, I got it. I must have had another senior moment. (At this rate I'll be turning into Wreck. :p)

Much like the dead Bulldogs and Levis in the junkyard maps of UT2004.

The Titans are scattered all over one of the Red Zone maps in skirmish mode, a 3vs3 map to be exact. Also, the map had a EMP Control Center in the center of a ruined villiage near the center of the map, just to give you more of an idea.

EDIT: you can also find some Wolverines there as well... they're a bit harder to come by though.

The mechs are out and good riddance.

I loved Tiberian Sun, but loathed the mechs. It wasn't GDI anymore, it was MechGDIwarrior. Especially the Mammoth Mk. II, which was a disappointment. From the powerful war machine of previous C&Cs we get an oversized dog which fails to live up to it's predecessors.

It looks great in CGI cutscenes, but in-game... I hated it.

lol, nice :D

I didn't like the Mechs when I first played TS. But now... I miss them :\ It just seems silly to go backwards in tech like they've done. I suppose it was foreshadowed, like in TS where you find some old Mammoths and they kick arse for you...

I don't miss the walking things... these tanks look more realistic don't you agree?

If we'd had the tanks in TS, and the walkers in C&C3, maybe ;)

the replacement of the Mammoth MkII with a tracked tank seemed like a bit of a stupid backwards move though how would fully replacing every walking tank you had with rolling tanks be cheaper?

would it not just be cheaper to fix the old ones afterall don't fix it if it ain't broke

So it would feel like we were technologically progressing? We go from treads to legs then back to treads. Eh, I guess you could say they are trying to accomodate for lack of territory actually under their control, and supposed weakness of the mechs that could be exploited. In any case, at least they didn't get rid of the mechs altogether.

In the fiction I think it is stated that the mechs were expensive to maintain, so they phased them out and brought tracked vehicles back in that would be cheaper in the long run.
