Alrighty, I'll try to explain this as easily as I can.

Everytime I go to a website that has Windows media player embedded into the webpage, it never plays. Never once, and I can't get it to, why is that?
I have the latest WMP and Ie and Opera, still nothing, I tried different browsers thinking it could be that but it wasn't.

I had this problem before, but I don't exactly remember what I did to fix it :P

For a simple quick-fix, you probably could do an uninstall/reinstall of WMP (and get firefox :p).

You need to turn off any "anti-banner" tool. Usually you'll find the tool integrated in your firewall or internet security suite. The problem is that most videos have some kind of link to advertisement which the "anti-banner" blocks along with the desired video.

It can be that this was never a problem until your security software updated.
