Im going to buy BF 2 soon and I know it has a ton of patches but my question is: Do I have to download and install every single patch or just download and install the lastest one?

I don't think you need to download every single one, but you might as well. I've heard of problems going directly from Vanilla to the latest patch due to mismatches. But it's entrely up to you. It's your game. ;)

Some patches will not install unless you have the previous patch already installed. There are also incremental patches that are much smaller in download size than the full patch. So for example if you have 1.2 you won't need the full 1.21 to upgrade, just the incremental 1.2-1.21. The best way to download and install patches is with EAs Link download manager which you can get here. http://www.ea.com/ealink/index.jsp?locale=en_US

In order to use EA Link correctly you'll have to install the game first. The Link software will then examine the game and determine which patches you need.

no best thing to do is install new, and patch to latest (latest patch is half a gigabyte big)

all the incremental patches mess things up. you can also download a fix that wil remove the intro videos for you

saves you valuable time

Dosent BF2 have an auto patch thing? Like c&c 3 does when you click "check for patches"? If BF2 has somthing similar use that, i havent touched BF2 in a while.
