The Shadow Team Guide
Too many times, I've seen games where people tries to attack with Shadow Teams, but fails, as they don't know what to hit, or how many squads are required to destroy a building.
The purpose with Shadow Teams are using a hit and run strategy, in a few steps:
Find your target. Normally, I choose refineries, as they can stop an enemy in developing completely.
Determine how many Shadow Teams are needed to destroy the building.
Fly in from the sides, or generally away from stealth detecting units, because if you've been seen once, the enemy will do everything to stop you, and the Shadow team has such riddicilouse HP it will leave you with no choice but to fly out again, and wait for your enemy to forget.
Land, wait a second till ALL the wings disappear *NOTE* If the wing-graphic on your teams are still visible, and you (ctrl+d) to bomb a target, they will bug and fly again, destroying your entire strategy.
Use the EXACT amount of shadow teams needed to bomb a target. If you have a group of 8 shadow teams, and set them all to bomb a power plant, they will all waste their charge (releasing the 1 minute cooldown), even thought power plants only need 2 charges.
Take off again in a hurry (ctrl+s) and fly out of the base, or in the conour of the map, and wait approxemately a minute, and then rince and repeatList of buildings, and how many shadow teams required to destroy them:
Powerplant: 2
Barrack: 2
AirField: 4
Communication Center (building no. 5): 4
Tech Center: 6
Refinery: 6
Warfactory: 6
MCV/Construction Yard: 8

Sounds about like what I do with stealth tanks, except I just do normal hit n run.

Yea. People tend to use Stealth Teams as an infantry rape rather than trying to use them as a good way to take out critical structures.

I can take out Factories and Refineries with 5. You might want to double check your numbers.

Probably a bad idea actually. The Shadow Team rush needs to be as fast as possible in order to succeed, the extra time required to go around the side and avoid stealth detection could easily cost you the game when your Stealth Teams arrive too late. You can probably do this on smaller maps, but on a map like Tournament Arena or larger you will want to go straight in.

There is an easier way to tell, just watch the C4 button at the bottom right, when it lights up the Shadow Team is ready to go. Alternatively, give them a move comman first, and as soon as they move you know they are ready. Either of these is easier than watching the wings.

Actually the likelihood that they will waste C4 is very slim, they would have to drop their C4 in the exact same frame, and considering there are 30 frames/second, there is little chance of wasting it. Still, there is no point in telling 8 shadow teams to C4 one powerplant.
Take off again in a hurry (ctrl+s) and fly out of the base, or in the conour of the map, and wait approxemately a minute, and then rince and repeat
Don't run out of the base unless they are chasing you. You want to C4 the next target as soon as you possibly can, so head towards it and then just wait there until your Shadow Teams are ready.

Barrack: 2
AirField: 4
Communication Center (building no. 5): 4
Tech Center: 6
Refinery: 6
Warfactory: 6
MCV: 12[?]
A Construction Yard is 10, or maybe 9. It definately not 12. (Although I think Nod CYs might be weaker, not sure about that though). Also, refinery and War Factory are only 5, at least if some of your Shadow Teams are veteran (and two of them should be because of the Shadow Team power).

Umm, no? People almost never use Shadow Team as anti-infantry, which they are amazing at, and usually only get them very early to harrass structures and then never again once the initial rush is done.

cool thanks for the info. btw a good way to counter these when you nod is a few venoms.

Venoms are too late. If you suspect or know that your opponent is going to Shadow Team rush then cue up two Shredder turrets and whereever he tries to land drop them down (but you need to place them fast).

The shredder turrets range is far too short to be effective - You're actually better offf using raider buggies with attack bikes to stop them.

Spread out the turrets.

Spread out the turrets.
But when you do that, their attack power becomes crap due to their slow fire rate and unusally poor damage.

Theoreticly, that works as well, but useually, the shadow teams aren't stacked in 1 unit, so they won't land on the same time, and as soon as your first groups land, the C4 will appear, while the others are still in mid-air.
Actually the likelihood that they will waste C4 is very slim, they would have to drop their C4 in the exact same frame, and considering there are 30 frames/second, there is little chance of wasting it. Still, there is no point in telling 8 shadow teams to C4 one powerplant
No it's defenently alot bigger than that.
If you use 4 shadow teams on a power plant, they will all 4 use their c4.
Apart from that, another catch in using an inappropriate number of shadow teams for a building it; you could end up not destroying it, giving the enemy time to repair.

I'll have to check up on the exact numbers, as I'm beginning to doubt myself.
And yes, the veteran shadow teams has a much stronger explosive, I'm guessing twice as strong, but I'm not sure. (4 normal shadow teams for an airfield, 2 veterans)

Just tech straight for the secret shrine, deploy the Shadow Team power, and train 0, 2, or 7 STs for a 3 (crane and surveyor), 5 (refinery and factory), or 10 ST (CY) rush, respectively, sell the shrine when your done for the last team. After the secret shrine is up you can go straight to a refinery. As long as you're not doing the 10 ST rush (which doesn't work very well and I don't recommend it), you'll have enough money to expand if you want.
