View Full Version : Patriot Bug?

I was playing against a regular U.S. in a 2v2 map, and since my teammate was a noob and didn't rush as USAF, the guy had like 20 patriots everywhere in his base, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but somehow he had them attacking my buggies at artillery range! And his Strat Center was on Bombardment, not S&D... Is this a bug or something?

Its an exploit, I know how to do it but I'm not going to tell you, and if you figure it out don't tell anyone else and never, ever use it. The person in that game cheated you, but don't start cheating other people because of it.

Listen to Derek dude, dont sink to that cheaters level.

Thx guys, and don't worry, I won't repeat the bug though I think I saw how he did it. I thought that there was a problem with patriots attacking me outside of my buggies' views

:flame: Great, just found out the laser turret bug outranges nuke cannons. I have such bad luck...:flame:

Don't play no-rush ? :S

Actually if exploited with laser turrets this bug can be exploited beneficially in no rules games. However you are less likely to find cheaters if you play without rules.

Nuke Cannons + Laser Turrets = Sounds like no rush :S

Nope. 2 laser turrets placed close to ur base is all it takes, you can pull that off in no-rules ffg. I've seen it exploited this way on TD and FC, went after the defense with every unit in my aresnal, including the nuke cannon. It's really gay.

Sqwerlpunk, don't use nuke cannons for base assaults, even if you're playing no-fun 15. That's what infernos are for. Nuke cannons are anti-china mix, that's about it.

alright, ill keep that inferno cannon thing in mind... though i was playing as china nuke and it was a no rules game

It's good you tried to use the cannon, but just understand that they're there to blow up infantry and China's slow armored vehicles with the support of your own armored units.

I don't think it's a bug at all. I believe that the more turrents you have, the farther the'll fire. But I guess it could be a bug that allow players to make them fire farther. But I've never seen them fire really far with just one or two in an area.

So is it really possible to make them fire farther at will? Let me know. (I'm not asking you to tell me how to do it.)

Doesn't the Bombardment setting make units and all fire further?

If Patriots firer at longer ranges when there's heaps of them (as said by Me Myself), and the Bombardment setting is on (assuming that makes things fire at longer ranges), then that might be it... dunno.

no they don't.

bombardment increases a UNIT'S firepower, search & destroy increases a UNIT'S range.

And having more patriots doesn't increase the range. If one Patriot is attacking a target, and another patriot is within range of the first, then the second patriot can fire at the target. But this is not the bug that we're talking about.

All I'm asking if players can make patroits fire father do to an EA bug, I think you said that in a post of page 1.

Serch & Destroy increases weapon ranges by 20%. Bombardment increases weapon fire by 20%. Hold the line increases armer by 10%.

Yes, and it's a serious exploit. One of the reasons I'm boycotting stat games.

They should've fixed this bug in a Generals patch. Have they not? :wtf:

Do you have any idea how many game-killing exploits have gone unfixed for patch after patch? The only reason ZH is even playable is because there are actually more honest people out there than cheaters, at least if you're playing 1v1 no rules.

Actually it's not the cheaters that ruin ZH, its the hundreads of no ****ing rush cry baby noobs out there :(

It's all the un-legit players, ranging from lamers to cheaters.

I win. :)

By the way, have any of you guys experienced the Scud bug/exploit?

Yes, it's quite well known. Your next question will be how to stop people from using it or to turn them in to EA. The answer is you can't. You want to avoid it? Play no rules and no stats games.

No stats game won't avoid Scud buggers but it'll be a lot easier to find a stats game.

What I was saying is that people who cheat are less likely to play/cheat in a no stats game because there isn't the payoff. All you get is pissing somebody off, you may as well play an Easy computer. I say this cause a good friend of mine cheated a lot when we played and that was his view... and I know it is impossible to completely avoid scud buggers... dam EA...

It happened to me once, I was playing a rated-game on the small map called Alpine...something with 2 bridges. We were both turtling (he said no rush 10), and I build a particle cannon before him, and then he built a scud. I thought he's dead cause there's no way his scud can withstand my particle cannon. And all of a sudden scuds started coming towards me :(

No one plays no stat games except complete noobs or people expecting a 50k match. So naturally, I can only play with the buddies I make chatting in the lobbies.

Download 1.05c from Game Replays. Then play tell everyone about 1.05c, and how it makes the game 10x better.
