Cannot select items?

After adding some new buildings, fences, and cars to a mini-city I have in my map, I can't select any item except the buildings in the city, the actual buildings.

I can't select trees, cars, those tiberium mounds and those tiberium huge ass things. Help me!

it sounds like you have "show Object Icons" unselected, go to View>Show Object Icons, or press Crtl-B to toggle it on and off.
When enebled you should see a small black dot in the middle of every object, which you select.

SECOND FIX:
Edit> Pick Allowances, this is used to filter what you only want to select or move, it could be possible you have everything unselected, fix this by pressing Ctrl-0 to turn them all on.
