Thought I'd post the progress of my Tour Of Egypt remake plus images of how it's being/has been made.
I went into Yuri's revenge and screencaptured when the entire map was revealed, then cut around the edges of the cliffs and tiberium fields and made the general map layout bigger: to 500x500px (25 blocks up and across)

I used this to get the general layout as accurate as possible:

Then added a few odd textures, waypoints where the players will start and tiberium fields.

Bottom of the map on the first pic looks like a smiley face with hair. :P

looks a lot better then the playable version of this remake...

I would like to see some more use of the hilltops though (and plz make sure the AI uses all 3 routes..., the other remake was just a big battle in the middle, also quite fun with 8 mammys rolling next to eachother smashing and crashing everything :D)

Do you mean more detail on the hilltops or more battle on the hilltops?

I've yet to add tiberium to the hilltops yet.

I'll be adding alot more texture detail soon also. This is only in the basic stages at the moment, I'll probaby add ambient sounds, fog, lighting etc aswell.

I mean both... they always were a safehaven from groundattack, and if you put for instance blue tiberium on top, a player would only need AA there to protect their havesters. I'm not saying that the setup is incorrect, maybe something like... non buildable ground on top?

and for the rest it looks quite good actually, can't wait to try it out! :D
