I've sent some maps the cncden.com but never saw them get posted. I know new maps get posted about once a month. Does only the best maps get posted out of the bunch? I'd just like to know what it takes to get a map posted & how it gets reviewed.

Maps can take about 1-2 weeks to get posted after you send the email. They have to have a functioning minimap, a readme file and be of decent quality to be posted. If the map lacks any of the requirements, it will not be posted up by Lion.

If your map has taken more than two weeks and you feel the map was of decent quality, had a functioning minimap and had a readme file, send the Lion an email. :)

Meh, I wouldn't call it "decent" quality, really the map just needs to be playable: ie, tiberium, some space for a few buildings, and thats about it. If you sent your maps in a few days ago and they haven't been posted, you probably did not have a working mini-map.

Lion's Daily Blurb - Mon., Tues., April 23-24
I have a very busy work week ahead of me, but I'll do my best to start getting some new maps out to ya'll. On Monday and Tuesday of this week I'll be releasing some new staff maps for C&C3. I also have quite a few maps waiting to be reviewed before I can post them up. Any map submitted to the DEN MUST have a readme file included, and make sure you have a working mini-map. We have a tutorial in the DEN Forums for that. Without the readme file or working mini-map, I'll toss it in the garbage can. The tutorial is in the C&C3 maps section for the mini-map. Also want to mention I have completed work on my first map for C&C3. It's currently in the testing stage. I'll try and release it by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. And lastly, I'm in need of a new ride for testing all these maps on. I'm currently using a Pitbull. I'd like to have one custom made. :D

The same requirements are needed for other CnC maps!

Okay, I know what the problem is now. I didn't include a fuctional mini map because I had no idea that I needed one. The times I've tried sending maps were at this link, http://cncden.com/uploading/ It doesn't say anything about including a mini map.

I just checked out that tut & it looks like it for somthing in the cnc3 world builder. I'm trying to send a Zero Hour map.

Edit: Could you guys please tell me what I did wrong in sending my zero hour maps? This is what I included in the folder of the last map I sent: .map, .tga, .txt, .ini, (Just adding snow.) & an .str. The map was a moddified version of Lone Eagle. I moddified it to Lone Eagle [No Rush 10 Min].map. It's just the same except you can't attack the enemy for 10 minutes.

Sometimes the zip or rar file you send can't be read by the file uploader script. For instance, if you use a ( ' ) in your zip or rar file, I can't get the download from the uploader script. It's a protection thing with the scripting.

Make sure to name your zip or rar something simple. For instance, if your map is named Lion's Walls, do NOT name your zip or rar file lion'swalls.zip.

Rather name it lionswalls.zip without the ( ' ). Nothing I can do about it cause I have to protect my server. I don't allow certain symbols with naming files. Keep your name simple and all will be fine.

As far as what maps are accepted, generally I'm NOT that picky unless of course I'm grading it for the featured section. As long as the map works, and is somewhat interesting, has a half-decent layout...I'll post it up. It can take up till two weeks to post your map due to my busy schedule, and the volume of maps I receive. For instance, I have well over 30 maps waiting to be reviewed. That was the number sent in over the weekend.

That may have been my problem, I don't think the zip file name was very simple. But can a name the map anything I want or do I have to keep that name simple too?

You can name the map anything you like (within reason of course) but just keep the zip file nice and simple.

Just as Elite says...doesn't matter about the map name or what's inside the folder.

The Zip file is the problem, as I've stated. Certain symbols can cause problems on servers. I don't want to reveal what they are, just to say I have to take measures that prevent anyone from attempting to cause problems with the server.

Yeah, I think that's the problem. As I said before, my map name was "Lone Eagle [No Rush 10 Min]" Next time, I'll name the zip folder "LoneEagleNoRushing"
