Reacently, I was given a D-Link DI-524 wireless router as a leaving gift from where I do my year in industry, I was exited, connected the router to my PC, and then it requierd me to "connect the modem's ethernet cable to the WAN port" on the router, big problem here that my modem has a USB cable.

I was wondering if anyone knows a way for the router to communicate to the modem via the PC (Yes I understand my PC needs to be on for connection - and effectivly turning it into a router)

I am going to keep "Get a new modem with an ethernet cable instead of a USB" as a last resort.

I allready attempted to bridge my USB modem (Speedtouch USB ADSL PPP) with the Local Network Connection without success

The only way to do it would be to set up ICS on the PC, but then you would only be using the router as a switch/wireless access point.

Another problem I forgot to mention is that the software that came with the CD won't install unless I have the computer and a modem attached.

EDIT: I think I should purchase the Ethernet version of my Modem from Speedtouch, which isn't too expensive at £33
