C&C3: Cannot play GDI campaign, please help.

Hi, I am the Hammer of Nod, and I'm a C&Caholic.

I have C&C3, Kane Edition. For some reason I can't play the GDI mission. Every time I try the game shuts itself down and an error message appears. Here's the error signature:

Anyway, when I play Nod campaign or skirmish mode there was no problem. The game runs entirely smoothly. Only when I (try to) play the GDI campaign.

Did you patch the game? If not patch it and then see if it works. Just pop in the dvd and click on "check for updates"

I've patched the game, did the usual (eg close down background programs, clear temp folders). I even lobby people at another forum to send me a save game of the first GDI mission to see if I can play it. (turns out I can, but after the game finishes the same error occurs). Nothing works.

It could either be computer bug or your CD must have been scratched. Try runing the game on a friends computer and see if it works on that, if it does then return your copy of the game and get another copy.

The same thing happened to me when I first got generals and zero hour.

You are playing the KANE edition, not the GDI edition, that's why! Kane doesn't want you to defect, so he made his version of the game so that you can only play his side and one else!:evil:
