Hey does anybody know how to open a .big file? is there a specific program to use? i'm asking this because i wan to mod a game but it uses .big files instead of .ini files. I tried notepad and it practically crashed my comp.

If you're working on Generals/BFME, the XCC Mixer will work fine.
