I was just wondering what the ra2.mix file was and what it is used for, and possibly how to edit it. When i tried to open it using the "web service to find an appropriate program" it said it was a Microsoft Picture It! file. Would using that program to open it work?

No. MIX files hold all of the game's graphics, palettes, config files, etc. You need the XCC tools (http://xhp.xwis.net) to open MIX files. Also, do not edit the stock game's files, simply make your own.

thanks, after a little searching on thier site i found downloads for XCC tools.

*EDIT* I'm having a problem... i tried using XCC object extractor and XCC theme writer... i extracted the APOC, ZEP, and CAARMY04 objects and extracted the GADEPT from TS. I took out theme and thememd. I didnt change any of theese files except thememd, and i changed it back. I sent all theese files to the recycle bin (didn't permanenetly delete them) because when i ran YR, it crashed when loading a skirmish game... It is still crashing and i don't know what to do... can someone pls help me??

You broke it! :p
You'll probably need to reinstall your game. Next time, use the XCC Mixer to pull graphics and other files.
