As GDI its not that I cant build tanks. the scorps are so fast that they just go around my tanks and either
1. Kill miners
2. Hit my power
Once they get a mass amount its hard to stop.

Box in your sups? lol.
Until the patch comes out (next week I guess) weakening the Nod onslaught, all you can do is try and play defensively for the first few minutes (doesn't necessarily mean turtle, just get preds/orcas/spread Pitbulls in guard mode at the major chokepoints.)

Well, assuming he is good this is the most effective strat:
Esc > Quit Game

Play tournaent tower as GDI.
Use the build order and stretch to the blue tiberium on the cliff.
PP->Crane->2x refinerys(at blue tib)->1xrefiner/war fact(at blue tib)
He wont win there.

Tournament Tower is a terrible map to begin with. Here is what you do: Go GDI, build 2-4 Cranes, spam powerplants and Sonic Emitters all the way to his base. Nod can't stop this on Tower. So yes, you can beat Nod, but only if you do it on a terrible map.

Dude, can't you just spam guardian cannons or rockvee APCs, or if you're Scrin, Shock troops?

Tournament tower is an awsome map. Ive beaten people that pull that pp+sonic tower crap.

The Scorpion is faster than anything that outguns it and more powerful than anything that can catch it. And they can't be stopped by sonic emitters on most maps.
Oh I know! Make your base with minimal space between the buildings so it's easy to guard and hard to get through!

It won't exactly be hard to get through when he's destroying buildings left-to-right with 30+ Scorps lol. :p
In general, try to build plenty of rocket troops, and just order them to attack each one individually to maximize the damage. Just keep pumping 'em out and setting 'em to "Agressive".

Scorpians will tear your APCs to shreds. Predators are your only chance, they are equal to Scorpians in attack and defence for the money, but Scorpians are much faster so they can easily attack weakpoints in your base before your Predators can arrive. As Scrin you can hope he doesn't Shadow Team rush and go dual Gravs, which will beat Scorp spam, but all he has to do is switch his factories to produce bikes and buggys and all your Stormriders and Shock Troopers are useless. If he Shadow Team rushes you however, your ****ed.

I'm out of ideas... extra WF + rig spam?

rig spam? never seen those things do much damage, but then again I only use those in combo with tanks... nice mobile repair station @ chokepoints. you can beat scorp spam if you plant enough infantry into buildings, scorp vs building with 3 rocketsquads is kind of overkill. by the time the spammer makes things to clear buildings, you should have enough force to stop anything similar to a scorp spam.
besides, in late game, nod is getting weaker in comparison to other factions.

The idea is that you're basically buying guardian cannons with twice the firepower, and massing them where your base is vulnerable. Put a lot near your base perimiter and micro some preds to block the holes between them in a hold ground stance. So you're basically using less power and money for better turrets, although you will need another warfactory and a strong economy to pull it off. I think it'd work, I'll test it out tonight and post a replay if it's effective.

hmmm you might be right, I only use those in single, and I never use stationairy cannons, besides, if you put your preds in front, you don't have to pay for repairs of any attacks that might have come, since the enemy will likely attack your preds first. (then realizing that it is being repaired, but then it is already too late )
a mix of rocket ppl and preds might work as well, if you place your rocket squads between the preds that is. they can't be overrun, but they pack a considerable amount of firepower for 300$. roughly 3 rocketsquads for the price of one predator. they might be slow, but place 'm nicely in a chokepoint and you have some decent anti scorp defence in place...

The primary use of Rigs is to heal your units, they heal a lot faster than WFs. However mixing Rigs and Rocket Squads won't work, it will only force him to mix a little. You will still lose if he is half decent.

Dude he Just goes around them. and makes your tanks chase them trying to kill them. meanwhile hes building a huge force to hit you from the other side.
The only luck I have had is to
1. Build about -4 preadators early and air drop them in his tib fields to kill his money. then fight off his counter attack. repeat
2. Build 5 Pitbulls and make a b line for his miners try to hope you can get them back to help defend there base.
3. screw the war factories and build duels AFs and orcas you can devastate his tank army with orcas. but once he gets bikes your done!

Yeah, thats all pretty good. If he is worse than you it might work, which is pretty much as good as you can get, but if is remotely equal to you you will still lose. Yay for imbalance :\

Kay, tried out the rig spam against Nod. It's effective if you can stall your opponent's advance for long enough, but you're not going to manage that as GDI. And you'll need to use plenty of other vehicles to support them against vertigoes and fanatics. :\
In short, it's not worth the trouble, unless you're just trying to hold a single chokepoint, and even then you're just fine spamming less clumsy units like orcas or preds.

I find APCs to be better at holding chokepoints, since they can plant mines and attack both infantry and vehicles fairly well.
(NOTE: Will not work against a Brutal or a Nod Steamroller though)

how about loading up all your harvys as scrin and sending them en masse over to your enemy's encampment and watch the fireworks :D
very nice local ion storm to wreck some encampment

That tactic is downright EVIL if there happens to be blue tiberium inside!!!

Its also downright expensive. $1000 (for the harvester) + $4800 (the tiberium inside) = $5800 for the attack. I would rather just buy two more tripods.

not to win the game, but to humiliate a n00b like me...
surely you could use the money in a better way, but this is just plane fun :D

Last night I played a good, long game against a GDI who tore my scorps to shreds using mainly missile troops. He built one emitter but only late-game-- I'd hurt him bad early on but fumbled the initiative.
That strat will become even more effective post-patch. It's an old-school one too: we used to place 3-4 missile troops by every single building in the original C&C. It was the only viable way to stop Orca masses...
Didn't work too well against the current issues with venoms, but there are some deception tactics I might try.

you should always mix your scorps with something more anti infantry like (maybe a few buggy's would have made a hell of a difference)

Yeah, MBTs need anti-infantry, and don't forget anti-air support (perhaps the aircraft will destroy their targets, but don't let them live - or they'll fight another day).
