RA2\YR Network error never seen before

I've installed ra2 and tried to network (retail purchase). I click on network. The only option I have on the right hand is NEW... no join. So i click on new and it turns into join. There are no other buttons on the right. Just the one. I've uninstalled, cleaned the reg, re-installed, updated, installed yuri, and updated. Each step listed above gives me the same error. Ive googled everything i could think of. I have ipx set up on a couple of machines and i cant get this thing to work. also another graphical error is shown. On the top right where the red slider is moving back and forth(the thing that looks like an old school fm tuner) duplicates itself and shifts up and to the right. Has anybody ever seen this or am I the only one. Im going nuts trying to fix it. can anybody out there help?????

when you run skirmish does it let you click "create random map or does that button not exist until you click except?

i think i suffer the same problem, but i don't no the solution either. :cry:

Ok first, for RA2/YR, it is best to play internet games, instead of network games. Honestly I don't even think the network thing for RA2/YR even works. Secondly, please clarify the "red slider thing" and be specific, there are ALOT of red sliders in the game. But still, it would be better to play an internet game and just have your friend join your game from a worldwide server. And i really hope that you have gone through all this trouble to play against a friend... unless you are playing this game from a buisness network somehow the only people you can play agains in network mode are ppl in the same house. So if this isin't the case, save yourself ALOT of BS and just screw it and play internet.
