Not sure how many of ya out there in lala land drive vehicles, but for those of ya that do, do you get annoyed by peeps who tailgate ya? Or perhaps YOU are one of them tailgaters. I get em all the time, but this week it's been a bit more than usual. Their goal of course is to get to the front of the line and play leader of the pack. This week I was driving the speed limit...dude behind me was so close I could of spit on him. He attempted to pass me about half a dozen times on a very busy two lane highway where there are NO passing zones. Dunno how far he thought he was gonna get. I was following a tractor-trailer, and trying to keep a safe following distance. I let him have at it for a while, then did the little tricks of the driving trade, like tap the brakes, put on turn signals (but don't turn anywhere), slow up, then speed up. Keeps em confused and guessing. After a few more miles he got the hint and backed off. I arrived at my destination. He passed by me...horn blowing, and of course the flip of the infamous bird. Gotta luv da bird. What ever happened to courtesy on the road? Like everything else nowadays, no one gives a good poop.

We get that all the time out here in So Cal. We call that "your number one" salute. Anyway I think because our culture is so self-centered and selfish they have no idea how to be thoughtful of others. I have to drive about 16 miles on a two lane road home with lots of trucks on it. You are not gonna get there any faster by passing them because there is usually another truck further on down the road. So you just gotta kick back enjoy the ride and eventually you get home in one piece. After all there are a lot of people that have died on this particular road.

If someone flicked me off. I would of tracked him down in the DroolMobile and cut tires. I would of course. Be acting like a ninja.

It died. I haven't really encountered too many tailgaters while I'm driving (on a learners permit) but their are plenty of people in my area who feel the need to drive below the speed limit.

When I get someone tailing me first I'll slow down to like 10mph then speed up. I'll block them if they attempt to pass, and if they don't back off by then I speed up and then SLAM on the brakes.
Always works.

When people act like that on the road, I try very hard to let them do exactly what they want to do. I'll change lanes and wave them by.
Why the hell not?
Sometimes you can't, and I hate it when they tailgate in that sort of situation but there's not much you can do about it without being dangerous. And I never tailgate, I don't feel safe unless there's a good distance between me and the car ahead.
Oh and... nobody gives a poop? What kind of language is that? Either swear or don't swear but avoid the smarmy area between the two. Me, I prefer avoiding profanity, but because I think it cheapens the message rather than because I care about offending my readers' virgin ears.

My father is a said tailgater with very bad road rage. It's pittifull to watch him bitch out a guy doing the speed limit and then get pissed off cause the driver is a female (He tends to be sexist to and my mothers pissed him off about that). Me, i haven't encounted many cause im on a learners permit and drive better then my sister has sense she got her license 2 1/2 years ago \o/. Racing games ftmfw.

You're as much of a jackass as the tailgater, maybe even more so. If someone is tailgating you just ignore them, the last thing you want to do is make the situation even more dangerous. They will eventually either pass you or back off if they can't, but there is nothing you can do to make the situation better except obey the normal traffic laws (which include not slamming on your brakes, not blocking passes, not going too slow, etc.).

Gas around here hit $3.45 a gallon this week. I've been adjusting my driving to get another 50 miles from a tank, and yeah, that means I'm stuck behind trucks more often. Its patience verses a little more money down the can.

I completely agree with you, when you're on the road, you can't behave normally and show you're angry at someone, no matter how justified you are, you HAVE to eat your pride and obey the rules 24/7 otherwise you could well end up like the people you deslike so much on the road.
You feel like pissing some asshole off? Fair enough, but don't ask where courtesy on the road has gone, Im sorrying to say Lion... :D
