It means they haven't got enough reputation (ie a positive rep) to make any difference to your reputation. In other words, they suck.

I got a rep from Rolk and I'm not even sure if its positive or negative. But does it matter? He told me to eat grey dot. :shy:

Edit: always second place huh Daishi? :p

The grey dot means you have been either pos- or neg-repped by someone with a rep power of 0. Those are worthless to your own reputation, they're just comments.

Edit: aw ya beat meh ... Won't happen again :hmm:

Grey is neutral reputation and it is given to you by someone who has a red reputation because he or she cant give you anything else.

Cause he can, and possibly because he's honorably accepted rep as unimportant (at least if you're a mod)

Also doesn't it mean you have disabled your rep if it is under you avatar?

No, then it's black.

I would assume that they would just read the comments and see whether they're positive or negative. And check the total reputation points/power they have.

One could also argue that they have bigger problems if they can't tell red from green from grey from black :p

Look at BadIBill's rep - that is what disabled rep looks like.

It looks gray to me, but I guess it is black. Everyone sees colours differently, so sometimes with certain colours you can disagree what colour it is.

yea though my rep chart is starting to look more like a Christmas decoration than Luke Skywalker's light saber:shifty:

I recall Moo mentioning that you get blue gems after gold, is this true and how much of a good reputation do you need to acquire it?
also I doubt this but if there are blue gems is there a negative equivalent to it?

I don't know, but if Moo keeps inflating his rep to stay above Wes we'll find out soon enough :p
