View Full Version : Lion's Daily Blurb - Friday, May 18
I wanted to get some ideas for new C&C3 maps, so I fired up the old Command & Conquer and Red Alert games this week. Despite the fact the gameplay and graphics are way outdated, it still brings me great pleasure watching those pixilated tanks moving on the screen. It also helps me to appreciate how far RTS games have progressed over the years. Playing those old games are fine for nostalgic's sake, but I sure wouldn't want to live there anymore. Anyhoot, if anyone would like to see a remake of any of the maps in past C&C games that haven't been made yet, post your picks in the daily blurb, or drop me an email and I'll see what I can do.

Is there a place where we can find a list of all the official maps for CNC 1 and Red Alert 1? If I had a list of all the maps, I would gladly select one.

anything but symmetrical maps is fine.
personaly i cant be botherd mapping for CNC3 i have no love for the game, i'll stick with TS mapping myself.
i was planning to map for CNC3 but, well, ignoring players by not adding anything for offline skirmish has somewhat killed my intrests for this game.
with MP this game rules, but for SP this game simply sucks.

Start up any of the games and create a skirmish/multiplayer game. You'll be given a list of every map. ;)
I think the easiest maps to convert to C&C 3 would be from Tiberian Sun. The Tiberian Sun maps have plenty of detail that can be recreated, and the names of the maps suggest directions a creative mapmaker could go. The TD and RA1 maps are too basic. If you recreate the map accurately, it will look ugly. If you want to make it more pleasing, you have to come up with a lot more detail on your own that doesn't detract from the nostalgic feeling.
Here's a list of all the TS and FS maps from the First Decade pack:
Tiberian Sun Maps:
Grand Canyon (2-4)
Grassy Knoll (2-4)
Limited Access (2-4)
Pentagram (2-4)
Pit or Plateau (2-4)
Seismic (2-4)
Sinkholes (2-4)
Tiberium Garden Redux (2-4)
Tactical Opportunities (2-4)
Terrace (2-4)
Tunnel Training (2-4)
A River Runs Near It (4-6)
Casey's Canyon (4-6)
Cliffs of Insanity (4-6)
Desolation Redux (4-6)
Hextreme! (4-6)
The Ice Must Floe (4-6)
Night of the Mutants (4-6)
Pockets (4-6)
Storms (4-6)
Stormy Valley (4-6)
Forest Fires (6-8)
Ice Cliffs (6-8)
Super Bridgehead Redux (6-8)
Tread Lightly (6-8)
Firestorm Maps:
Dueling Islands (2)
They All Float (2)
Tiers of Sorrow (2)
Hot Springs (2)
Hidden Valley (2-4)
Permafrost (2-4)
Theme Park (2-4)
Tiberium Forest (2-4)
Xcapades (2-4)
Cityscape (4-6)
Narrow River (4-6)
Nowhere to Run (4-6)
Drawbridges (6-8)
River Raid (6-8)
Personally, I'd like to see Tunnel Training, Hextreme!, Night of the Mutants, and Theme Park. With a little creativity, these maps could look great in C&C 3.
