I have a wireless G router. I'm connected to it with ethernet. I have two other ones connected to the router wirelessly. One is a laptop with a wireless g card and the other a desktop with a wireless b card.
Everytime the wireless B uses the internet, it lags the hell out of everything else.
I read that the router has to slow down in order to send the information to the B card. Is this true or just some hype?
Tired of lagging in games.

802.11b = 11Mbps
802.11b+ = 11/22Mbps in 2.4GHz range
802.11a = 54Mbps or 108Mbps in 5GHz range
802.11g = 54Mbps in 2.4GHz range
802.11n up to 600Mbps
If you have a "B" card connected to a "G" router, then you will only get a max. of 10-15 MBit/s on the "G" router.

So best solution is to change the "B" card to a "G" card...?

If you're too far from your wireless acces point and/or have a bad wi-fi connection you'll get lags and time-outs in games.
As long as the Wi-fi connection speed is above the speed of your internet connection you should be fine, though. Ie I have 802.11g, which is a max of 54Mbps, speed now is 36.0Mbps, and my connection is 1280kb. As long as it stays above 1.28Mbps it should work fine!
You could get a new G card or Dongle for the Desktop.
Edit: Yes, changing it into a G card should do.
your best solution is NOT to use wireless. It is only good for simple surfing, gaming is out of the question, unless you possess professional equipment.

I'm using wireless and I don't have any problems with it. Usually I ping around ~40ms which is more than enough for most games.

I use my wireless G Router to do everything online and works great, even with other comps on the router to.

You should probably get a B router in addition to the G router. Either that or your desktop computer is slowyour best solution is NOT to use wireless. It is only good for simple surfing, gaming is out of the question, unless you possess professional equipment.
you dont necesarily have to have proffesional equipment to use a wireless router for games. i use a wireless router to play C&C online and i only have a LinkSys. Never had a problem
