View Full Version : How to Make AI garisson

Hi, I got a small question.
I'm new here, so don't flame me if it has been answerd beforw, but I couldn't find anything about it.

Here goes:

I have made a cool comp-stomp map but some how the AI will not garisson any of the bunkers for their defence.
Is there a way to make them do this?

It's easy, just a matter of naming up to three building for one skirmish player to garrison. For the skirmish player a Player_1_Start name the buildings "Player1 Garrison1", "Player1 Garrison2", & "Player1 Garrison3". Now do the same for the rest of the skirmish players, just remember to change the player number to it's respective start position.

I figured this out by looking at the skirmish scripts for the AI & looking at the official maps that EA made.

I've looked at the skirmish scripts & it looks like you need to put in 3 more buildings called "Player1 Garrison1", "Player1 Garrison2", & "Player1 Garrison3". The scripts check for those buildings. I don't know if it'll work. One more thing. You forgot to put in the waypoint paths for the skirmish players. I think they're attacks will increases & be more effiecient if you put them in.

edit: OK, It's working now, but they don't seem to garisson all the buildings I told them to.
Does this has something to do with the kind of general? Or is this random?

What I do is i name a team, then make a script telling it to garrison either a named building or a nearby building. Try that.

I probably wouldn't have seen your editted post if it weren't for Chaoscontrol. Dumb automerge. :mad: Any way, the back skirmish player may have to far of a distance to go to the bunkers, the AI might tell the teams that are supposed to garrison get told to do somthing else in that amount of time. Mabey try naming all the bunkers for the front players & any left over for the back players. But this isn't a big problem, If I made a map like yours & the skirmish players garrisoned most of the building, then I would just leave it at that. But try my suggestion if you want to keep pursuing this.
