View Full Version : Crazy demo strat I saw...

So I was playing Final Crusade (I think...) against a demo, me as a stealth. I went for a pretty normal BO, tunneled (or tried to) all entrances, plus one at his top derrick (he had right side), tried to get an AD up, dual sup, the whole bit. All the sudden, before I get my tunnels up (I was moving slow), I have 10+ terrorists in my base blowing up my tunnels and barracks ect. I'm like, "WTF!?!?," then he's like, "noob," and then I cried (:hyper:). After the destruction of my base, he had something like 20 terrorists left over, though I still won because he was an idiot. I got an AD up in the bottom left and stealthed it, as well as a barracks (for oil capture since I had some cash still) and some tunnels (I laughed when he turned his radar van away when he was 10 feet from detecting my mini-base). 2 quads>20 terrorists=my boys in his base, and when I got there and started worker hunting, I found that he hadn't sold his CC (and called me a noob!), had only one supply, and built five or four barracks for pure terrorist spam, and had just then finished his AD (I hijacked his demobikes, I was ready :D). Anyone seen this before? And is it any good?

Sounds like he had a horribly executed all-or-nothing strat. I'm guessing that he got one supply and however many barracks and then spent the rest of the money on Terrorists. That would be a lot of terrorists (even more if he had sold his CC, n00b), but it would be easily stopped by a few anti-infantry units.

Honestly, I don't see an easy way for a China or USA to counter it very effectively that early in the game (it came really quick), unless you got a Gat Cannon up as China. I wish I had saved the replay...

In that game, I hadn't gotten my AD up, but maybe with power they could... alright, thx.

China has "the ultimate infantry killer" (= Gatt) and has it fast (due to power, which GLA lacks), so it's ridiculously easy to China to counter that, no matter how good could he manage the Terrorists.
USA can have it easily countered with flashvees (maybe u need to micro the things a bit but nothing special).
Derek already answered to u, but the sentence "I don't see an easy way for a China":freek: was to much for me to let go.
BTW, as a GLA, techs can be built even faster than quads making them the ideal answer to that pathetic terrorist spam. Anyway, once built, quads do little effort to chew infantry (specially terrorists):| :| :|
To Sqwerlpunk: Now, while u could have done better, of course, having him calling u noob is something to laugh about.

What, you think it's THAT bad???:\
It's only the most positionally imbalanced map in ZH. Plus, it's a bunker map, giving GLA a significant advantage against Chinas and USAs.
China flank rax spam is devastating against an unprepared USA, and infantry general can beat USAF in 1.04 if he's fast enough with the first few THs and minigunners. Never seen it done with terrorist walking.

Hehe. I tried a all-or-nothing strategy too. I was Infantry General playing against an Airforce General on Final Crusade. I sold my CC, and built five barracks churning out about twenty minigunners plus a few tank hunters. Luckily, he was spamming stealth comanches.
I rushed my first five minigunners towards his supply centre and destroyed two chinooks. I killed one of his dozers as well. Suddenly, a few comanches used the rocket barrage on my five MGs and they all died.
I then rushed twenty minigunners toward his base and they got attacked by five to six comanches. My MGs killed all of his comanches, but I lost all but a few MGs and THs. Then, he surrendered. :)

My team:all USA
Their team:all GLA
Yep, i've seen something somewhat like that before, it was a 4v4 match on tournament desert, 1 of my enemie's started to spam terrorists, filled them up in technicals, sent them towards my allies' base, all together there were 40 technicals, each of them filled to the brim with a full complement of 200 terrorists, my ally had only a few patriots up and running, so he couldn't take them all out. Me and my other allies sent whatever we had to help him out, it did'nt work out.
After a few minutes of mayhem, my ally got crushed and then the terrorists started going towards my other allies' bases. There were still aruond 80 or so terrorists left at this point, and they managed to take out almost all the forward defenses of that allies.
It was down to a 3v4, our other enemies were busy setting up small economical centers all through that time throughout the entire map, as well as a few near and in our former allies' base, our enemies' didn't spend enough time worrying about defense or making much of an attack force so my team decided that I should go in and clear out the area where our former allies' base was. While I did that, my other 2 remaining allies sent a whole bunch of crusaders and rockvees, along with some artillery towards our enemies' bases.
At that point, they managed to take out fully 1 and a half of the enemy forces, so it was back down to a 3v3. I got put in charge of homeland securuty, my purpose was simply to defend our area of the map while my 2 allies were the attackers.
After having lost their ally, our enemies built up a good number of scorps, my guess was around 120ish. What followed was the largest tank battle that I have ever seen in a command and conquer game. While our enemeis were busy building their attack force, my allies were busy doing the same, about 10 minutes after that, the enemeies launched their attack, I took out about 20-25 scorps using my raptors as the attack force came in. At the same time my allies attacked the enemies' attack force with crusaders, rockvees, commanches and a mix of infantry.
When the battle ended, our team was victorious, we still had 60 crusaders, 10 rockvees and 7 commanches, some of which were mine. We decided to attack the enemy, hoping to catch them while they were still building up their forces. I scouted their base with a raptor, it got shot down but it was worth it. The reconaissance effort helped 2 of us launch MOABs (the other ally's MOAB was for backup). While our enemy was recovering, we unleashed the remainder of our attack force onto him and he was vanquished.
Seeing the attack on his allies succeeding, one of our enemies left the game, it was down to a 3v1. Our attack on the previous guy's base had destroyed all of our forces, so we needed time to get back into it and start building up our forces. Our economy was doing pretty bad, so we spent about 10 minutes making drop zones for ourselves.
Then BAM! Out of nowhere 50 terror bikes came out of the darkened fog of war, headed for me. Luckily since I was in charge of Homeland Security and Defense, I had about 20 or so raptors on guard in front of my base, I sent them out to engage the bikes. After taking out 20 of the bikes, I saw what I dreaded, a few quad cannons in the mix. I had 7 raptors left at the end of that.
I waited for them to come at my line of 15 patriots, along with some firebases, each with 2 snipers and 2 missile troopers. After they chopped up the bikes and some of the quad cannons. The attack had failed. 20 minutes after that, my team had made up our entire forces. We decided that just for the heck of it, we decided to send in everything we had, I was taen out of the defensive role adn put back on attacking. Since I had been on defence for the batter part of the game, I had about 150 crusaders, 50 rockvees and 20 raptors, along with 10 commanches patrolling the borders of our team's base. There was my attack force.
We launched the attack, the enemy had alot of stinger sites, and when I say alot, I mean ALOT. At that ppoint in time, we had our MOABs all charged up, we used to of them on the defensive stinger sites and the remainder in the middle of his base, taking out a few barracks and a war factory.
With his defenses almost gone (he had about 20 or stinger sites left, along with 5 or 6 tunnel sites) we sent in everything we had. Not even a minute had passed when we had finished destroying his base.
It was a victory for the our team. The batte was long, 1 hour and 40 minutes long to be exact.
At the end, we all met up at our local tim hortons, ate donuts and drank coffee and had loads of fun talking about the successful game.
Absolute rofl!
Ok, now serious! Nice soap opera screenplay!
