Have any of the mods considered a forum for the ban-list? Like showing who got banned and for what reason. It could be locked or whatever to keep the arguing out. I've seen this on other forums. I just hate it when I see someone new that is banned and when I look through their posts, I see nothing wrong. I'm just wondering what your thoughts are. I've also added a poll to see what some of the members think.

I don't think it's necessary on any forum. We don't need to be reminded that someone did something bad and got punished for it, when we could always move along and forget about it, especially when it's probable that the banned member isn't coming back.

I Think It's A Jolly Good Idear Because I Userally Get Quite Confused About Why Some Members Are Banned.

Near as I can tell, most new members that are banned are banned because:
1) It's a clone account
2) Someone who was banned tried to reregister
3) It's a spam bot
It's very rare that a new member manages to accumulate 10 warning points so quickly that they're banned within a day or two.

Theres a challenge for us new members.

Moderators have a policy of not telling us why people are banned, I doubt that will change.

An incident which results in a member being banned is obviously private between that member and the staff of the forums, on any decent forums anyway..
Staff do not talk about bans. simple as.

couldn't have said it better myself. I think it was in a specific thread were a guy (don't remember who) was asking if he should keep some sunglasses he bought and sunny posted
"there isn't a shut the **** option"
then rolk said
"please do not respond to sunnys post. He has been taken care of"
and he was banned.:)
back on topic, I think it would be great if there was a ban list, if you overlook all the enlightenment it would bestow upon us, it would at least get people to stop bothering the staff aboot it.

So what? There needs to be a gray option. No one ever makes gray options. It's always yes or no, kiss ass or **** off. There needs to be an I don't give a ****.

I see your point. But if people don't give a ****, they usually end up just not ****ing voting. But I think that SL built up to this. He had done many nasty things in the past and, in my opinion, he was asking for it. Awkwardly enough, when I first came to the den, he said some foul things to me, and I told some people in the spam box he would end up being being banned over some unimportant matter some day...creepy:uhh:
Maybe this is why they don't publicize the bans anymore than they absolutely have to. People end up yelling about each other about it and flaming (none of which has happened yet) and things end up in more bans.
You know what, Corsarus, you're smarter then you appear. Good stuff, liking these posts.

There's a big difference between "I don't give a ****" and "Shut the **** up". And who the hell says there has to be a gray option? It was my thread and my poll, and I wanted answers from people. Why would I include a possible answer that leads me nowhere?

Contrary to popular belief, this forum is not a democracy. The staff do not need to start a thread on who is banned or why, but the individuals who were banned know why and thats all that matters.

Half of the time, we don't. I wasn't informed I was banned until Neo saw me around about two weeks later and asked me why I was still trying to log in.

well everyone interesting to get banned normally bitches about it on msn later anyway.
I voted no because it would just lead to unneccesay strife, even with a locked forum. as Zombie said, good forum's staff simply just don't talk about it.

That and something like that is a personal matter and of which is nobodies business but that person himself, and anyother person/persons involved. I voted no.
You get an email when you are banned. That is that, there is no discussion into it.
