Hi, im new!!, but i need some help...

Hi, my name is Ioan.B, i suck at RA2 and YR, and i would like to improve my skills into fighting. RA2 was my first game ever played, it was and its still the game that gives me the most fun out of my other games.

Now after i reinstalled this fabulous game, im getting some annoying issues, here they are...

1. Im back at step Zero, im a noob (Well pausing for 6 years...)

2. I turtle too much, im not efficient with money, and i mostly concentrate on having a beautiful base, you know, having that cosy, warm base, impenetrable, with a wall of prism towers and patriots defending it from Yuri( Uhh, i hate him when im against him, when i'm him, i love to "Return to Sender" the attackers :lol:

3. I cant go online for some reason, has Westwood online been shut down?

1) Nothing I can do to help ya personally. All I can say is keep practicing

2) Ask any woman. Sometimes quick and dirty is good J_t

There are build-order tutorials out there you could expand on...

Well, i like long, harsh battles. Thats why i always insist on defending.... Dosent seem to help against brutal ennemys...

Brutual enemies are stupid and should be easy to defeat, even when inefficient with money and concentrating on defenses.

Trust me, if you get owned by a brutal enemy, you probably don't want to play online. Although maybe I'm mistaken and you really mean "brutals" as in you lose because you're facing several at once.

Yes, severals. But since i dint played for so much time... well. I now suck.

Now, how do i go online? (Co-Up and Fun, its better when you play against a soul, not a machine).

Do i need like a patch to play online? im version 1.004 on RA2 i think

westwood online is still up. i was just there 5 mins ago. either your internet cable or Wi-Fi is disconnected or your ISP server is down. you should always focus on building evenly attack and defense.


P.S if someone uses korea theyre probably gonna come with Black Eagles

It's not weswtood online anymore, but XWIS. but you don't have to bother about; you'll get automatically redirected.
For the rest, I can give you several tips:
a) don't play Tour Of Egypt with crates on and when there are rules (so actually all of the hosted games with Tour Of Egypt)
b) play alot on other official maps, preferable open maps like blood fued or country swing or heck freezes over.
c) playing Quick Match helps alot
d) look in the strategy forum for RA2/YR for several tips/hints.
e) I'll see you maybe around and then I could give some personal tips;).

Westwood online worls for me. Just type in a display name that is no mroe than 9 characters,, and a 7 letter password and hit log in. Works for me.

I'd recommend not playing East v Best as well as avoiding Tour of Egypt.

Other than that, play on a large variety of maps. Maybe even play some common ones through on Skirmish to learn where the ore and choke points and tech buildings are, before playing.
