View Full Version : Best Rush BO for GDI???

For some time now I've been trying to find an effective rush strat for GDI, but it seems that most of my attempts end up either leaving my economy extremely weak or just don't seem to put a real dent within the enemy. And although patch 1.05 has indeed changed the whole tank-rush ideology around quite a bit, I still can't find any better BO other than that.
Thus, I've decided to ask around here and see what's your input on how to best rush with GDI, or just how to rush peroid. So, any suggestions?

On TA you can get a fast barracks and some rocket soldiers and rush your enemy's blue field, you can sometimes (actually often in v1.05) kill their surveyor before it deploys, and if not just garrison up and harass the harvesters.
On any map you can get a barracks and fast tech to an airfield, airlift an engineer to your opponents MCV while harassing his harvesters with Orcas. Time it right and he might not see your engineer in time and you could devestate him. Lastly, you can get a quick WF and pump out a bunch of pitbulls (5-10) and harass harvesters with those.

It actually kind of depends how many players you are playing with.
1 on 1:
Make a couple barracks and start spamming rocket troopers, go for his base.
2 on 2:
Same thing although you might want to start expanding your economy and use some rocket troopers inside APCs as well as some pitbulls for some more support.
3 on 3:
Same thing as 2 on 2 but get some predators and if possible an airfield full of orcas.
4 on 4:
Really nothing much, just do the same as 3 on 3.
Your enemies' skill level and strats can really impact how you, your allis and your enemies play. Your enemy could rush first or start turtling right away and your attack force will meet an untimely end. For late game rushing, mammoths and firehawks work best but anything can happen.

This worked for me before the patch, its a standard tank rush...
Build a refinery
A pp
WF -make a harvester, then standard tanks (maybe now some apcs)
RF
pp
WF -harvester more tanks (apcs)
RF
pp
Tech up -railgun/laser upgrade (not if u don't want to)
after that, depends on the strategy he put up, this is for basic nod or gdi against gdi or nod

sorry to bump this,
i tried cnc 3 at my friend's place. and i use engineer stole my opponent's construction yard. that guy had 2 barracks. and he just keep massing rocket soldiers and mix with some rifle man, grenadiers and when i relized the army he has, it was already too late. pretty much leveled my entire base. kinda feels like infantry general in zero hour.
i also found that if u are nod and want to rush GDI quick. try something like this
CY = (construction yard)
CY - crane
CY - refinery
CY - emissary (that expansion vehicle)
crane - refinery
CY - power plant
crane - power plant
CY - war factory
crane - tiberian refinery at expansion field
when ur war factory is done, get like 50 bikes
then keep building power plant and tiberium refinery, and build more war factory when u got some money floating around.
when u got about 8 bikes or so. go to ur enemy's secondary. and avoid rocket soldiers and base defence. try to go to rear and kill refinery and harvesters and power plant. pretty much u just keep harassing his econ using bikes and if he got predators, its easy prey for ur bike gang. but try to watch out for the rocket soldiers because u can't crush them. and get couple buggie if u think that guy got too much rocket soldiers that can kill ur base.
i lost to a dude who did this, so i tried it later. its pretty effective. not sure what can really counter it. but its my 4th game on cnc 3. haha

If you are GDI VS a human online. You may build several APCs with engineers in. APCs are fast and not so easy to be killed, rush to their base and capture their WarFactory and Construction Yard ONLY!(4-6 engineer will make your enemy scared!)
If you are GDI VS a computer, the AI does really matter much on how you can rush. For turtle, not suggest to rush at all. for steamroller and rusher, send a few troops to attract your enemy's troop using the attack-run tactics, and send most of your troop to destroy the construction yard. This requires a high level micro-operating.:)
