View Full Version : How do u defend against Nod bike rush?

I was Gdi and he was nod, and he rushed me with a bunch of bikes trying to kill my harvesters
At the first strike he had no kills (bless harvester armor), but then again he rushed with a more, and he did it fast
My tanks could not hit the bikes as they sped by firing missiles and he killed my apcs with rocket soldiers too fast to kill a good amount of them
No cannon defences or anything else could work because I ran out of cash after the harvesters died, do you think that they are overpowered because nothing I used can hit them?

Um...landmines?
Might try stationing some non APC'd missile squads around the Tiberium field, or something.
Have you tried Pitbulls? Don't know if they'd work.
Use Firehawks to bomb his war factories...Or refineries.

Unfortunately they run past everything and kill pitbulls and anything coming out of other buildings
I never got to air craft, and bikes can shoot down aircraft, and can chase them well, and finally pitbulls can only kill one at a time, waste of cash, but the rocket guy idea could work
If the bikes just didn't pass them making and go for my harvesters, and they run away when they get there
What hits bikes well?

preds + rifle squads will do nicely. There's always a chance he'll send a raider buggy or two first, intended to scout or antiscout, so you don't want to make naked missile soldiers as a defense unless your field is surrounded by buildings.

My predators can't hit the bikes
Rifle squads might do the trick, but if I don't know that the person will rush like that how will I defend?
If you can, please tell me a suitable way to scout, and the person who rushed me began by harvester harrassment, not to scout, but to harrass, then come in for the kill

Pitbulls will handle them pretty well. They got a huge two-part buff in the patch, all bikes got was a bug fix. Keep some gaurdian towers on standby too.

Too bad I got outnumbered, but if I do everything you say I can do when they come I'll run sore on money, I need to find a way to use teh best strategy at hand

Thats because you were outnumbered, anything will get raped when its outnumbered. If you have an equal amount (in cost) of pitbulls and bikes, the pitbulls will win.

This brings me to another question, after a while would the opponent send something else catching me offguard (and if he got your harvesters, then u would face trouble)?
Edit: He would have the advantage and element of surprise, I need to scout more

if i need to defend from attacks build a good few rigs and put mamoths by them
so then you get attacked you and getting much damage

bike rush means that you can't build defences or mammys BEFORE the enemy strikes.

Those vehicles have cannons, and I definetely noticed that the cannons weren't hitting them, and there is not time to get mammoths or railguns by then
Im going to try to be more aware of what the enemy is doing so I can defend against it (If I have any cash remaining when I get round to it)

i build rocket men and the troopers aswell so that means i can defend from attacks (most of the time that is)

I consider this old news, if they do it right they get your harvesters and cheap buildings which are a pain to rebuild, they know that pretty well too

If you're GDI just build pitbulls, they'll take care of the bikes without any problems.

rigs and mammies have cannons...
most cannnons can't hit fast moving vehicles such as bikes...
unless of course... they had railguns...

· CANNON weapons, such as those found on the GDI Predator Tank and Nod Scorpion Tank, now cannot miss against moving enemy vehicles.
So there's youre problem solved;)

Maybe that was scorpion tanks, because I was missing like crazy with my predator tanks, not enough damage for the area unfortunately, thats why pitbulls and rocket heads are a good choice right now

Well, like Derek said throughout the entire thread, Pitbulls work wonders.
A Battle Base will hold 'em off for a little while too, if it's at a last stand point.

Missile squads in in those riflemen bunkers work fairly well too thanks to the recent patch.

And why does the nod arsenal have so many ways to clear out those bunkers, and scrin too, bikes take out the bunkers and run by and buggies and flame tanks, or whatever pick off the infantry
if done right it is highly adaptable when it comes to stuff like this
aka, stealth flame tanks, black hand, even with buggies it can tear thru those small boxes then pick off the infantry, but still, it is hard to get ur bikes to go past tanks with out getting hit, when they stop while passing thru eachother u hope they ain't aiming at that one :)
battle base has cannons, which cannot hit bikes, I know this cuz I tried guardian cannons against the bike rush, he just wailed my harvesters and then the cannons...
bikes < infantry
infantry / tank combo > bike buggy combo

Well after eading all the posts.. my suggestions is you have two options in this case..
1. tell your opponet not to build anything and quit after 30 seconds thereby giving you a win and no harrassment from bikes.
2. Since #1 is highly unlikely to ever happen..then build two barracks and pump out rocket soldiers and station them around your tiberium field and dont forget a gun tower or two for basic rifle infantry and Sabotures. This will give you defence for both air and bike and tank attacks thereby giving you the time needed to build other structures and units.
You have to remember that if your opponet is rushing you with that amount of units you can bet that there is not much base defence in his base much less any other units to help defend. (that is of coarse if said rush happens early) But the longer you wait..the harder it will be to vanquish his attempts.

Preds cannot hit nod bikes, nod bikes are cheap, and powerful in force

APCs filled with rocket trooper squads, with a mix of rifleman squads in their bunkers.
Make bunkes with rifleman squads and then send your rocket trooper squads in them.
You can also try making grand cannon defensive turrets, although they might not take out his entire force, they might damage or destroy some of it.
You can go on the offensive first by placing rocket trooper squads into APCs and also fill a few APCs with rifleman squads as well.

Rocket men, apcs with rocket men, pitbulls, tanks with railguns, bunkers with rocket men, and so forth, but I think the guardian cannons have been stated before as useless... won't take out their money's worth while in one place and don't shoot over structures...
Glad now that cannons can hit these menaces if they are in range
