I'm going home for the summer and I won't have the net for a few months, so I'll post my mini project as it is.

It's a lunar map with lots of little modifications to change the game around (allowing completely different strategies and giving a fresh feel to the game). It was just a personal project but I'll put it here for now because I'm generous. :p It's also far from finished, I may even turn it into a full mod instead of a map-mod.

Anyway, I'll post it up in a couple of days before I leave. I haven't started on the Yuri side yet, but Allies and Sovs are about 80% done, without full balance testing.

Here's some of the changes (keep in mind this map is a lunar one):
All infantry wear space suits.
Infantry are more effective than before.
Paradrops are available to both sides once a barracks is created (and two planes are called in).
No attack dogs - they can't wear space suits! (Any ideas for anti-spy is welcome, I haven't given it much thought yet but pill box/sentry gun/gattlin gun defenses seem like the best choice atm, along with hero units).
Tank bunker and battle bunker available to all sides, requiring just a con yard.
Tank shell and garrison unit ranges increased.
Tech level units are more useful than before, but tech centers cost more and take longer to build (and have more armour than before).
All aircraft are more effective, but AA defenses are more effective (and shoot paratroopers) and more units will be given AA capabilities.
Structures have different armour values - war factories and refineries can now withstand feather assaults.Allies
GI has a sci-fi-esque laser, because I'm cool like that. GI doesn't deploy now.
GGI is more effective vs buildings and infantry. GGI doesn't deploy now.
Rocketeers are cheaper and more effective than before.
Chrono legionnaire costs 1000.
Robot control center cost 1500 and has a build limit of 1.
Robot tanks cost 400 and shoot missiles except for infantry, where it has a chain gun. With quick speed and rate of fire, robot tanks are very effective in groups and are actually useful.
Nighthawk has a better weapon, but can only carry 3 passengers. Has open ports so it is now an airborne battle fortress.
Harriers have unlimited ammo (but considerably weaker weapon), are faster and their weapon has more range.Soviets
Conscripts are awesome so they have an electric assault weapon.
Flak Troopers are comparable to the GGI.
The Crazy Ivan isn't as cra-z as before, he now plants powerful bombs on structures - capable of taking out most structures in one visit. He also throws dynamites which is effective against groups of units (may change this weapon in the future).
Tesla blokes are better but more expensive, to match the SEAL and Virus. (Will modify further in the future)
Boris can now actually call in an air strike quickly - MiG's are much faster than before.
Flak track can only hold one passenger, but the passenger can shoot from inside (may change this, I'm undecided right now. But for now, the terror drone only takes up one passenger slot so it fits inside!).
V3 has been vastly improved. Its missile is very fast (very rare that it is shot down) and does splash damage so it can be used against units (though only against slow ones if they are moving). It has less range but the missiles are also more powerful than before. Requires a battle lab.
Apoc tank is now the mother of all tanks. It costs 1500, but has old-school missiles for infantry, can fire on the move, has greater range than other tanks (only slightly) and can be manned by one person who can shoot from within. 'Ave it.
Siege chopper is now always airborne. It is fitted with a chain gun and twin-missiles. It is effective anti-ground and anti-air and self-heals, it is also available at radar tech level. Awesome for hassling and quick attacks.
Kirov airship now costs 2500 but has a far superior weapon to the previous one. Its weapon is a small nuke, capable of crippling bases and slaughtering large divisions of units easily. That's all I can be bothered to put down really. All country-specific units will be changed in the future and more changes will be made. The map will be here within a few days then, when I tidy up all the things I'm messing about with ATM.

Any comments welcome! Map added!

P.S. Does anyone know the image name for the Ivan bomb? I can't find it, so for now it throws a little cannon ball. :shy:
I think you just need to have "IvanBomb=yes" i'm not sure.

I... didn't think of that. Just thought it was logic for it to be placed like the bomb, but that wouldn't make any sense. I'll give it a try now. Cheers!

Edit: Nah it is logic to be placed like the bomb. :p

Ivan doesn't have a projectile image. He just places bombs... unless you mean his countdown thing, which is bombcurs.shp.

Mods have a custom image.

thats a pretty cool mod... makes me wanna get back to my realism project.

Ont thing though; did you actually give the constripts the ElectricAssault weapon? because if you did, they would be useless. But if you just gave the the regular ElectricBolt weapon you're fine.

Nah, they have their own electric weapon, based on the electricbolt one.

Can you click detonate Ivan's bombs? I always like that feature.
You should add auto-repair. That's fun too.

Other than that, not bad... though I'd say some of your changes are gameplay killers. :p

what do you mean, auto repair? and how would you be able to click detonate ivan's bombs?

The main thing I'm trying to cut down on is the tank rush. Rushes will now require at the very least some support units and certainly something anti-air (as they SHOULD)! :p

I did have the click detonate feature but I decided to go for what I have now because I bet there's quite a few mods with click-detonate. His bombs only take a couple of seconds to blow up now and do more damage than they ever did before.

Though I'm not sure what auto-repair is. Is that a feature that makes structures repair themselves? Sounds cool whatever it is.

I'll put it up here later as I'm going home today... I'll take a lot of things that aren't quite ready out of the map for now. The AI will need a lot of work in the future as it doesn't use a lot of the modded units yet. :happysad:

Add this:

OK thank ye, even though I don't know what it does... :p

I'm going now, so the map is attached here for you's!

Remember, it is no-where near completely done. I would like to know what you guys think about a couple of things I've put in there so far. This isn't balance testing remember, I would just like some input on some of the stuff in there. The following units have been changed quite a lot, so I'd like to know what you think of them: rocketeer, robot tank, nighthawk, harrier, cosmonaut, crazy ivan, tesla trooper, flak track, v3, siege chopper, apoc, kirov.

I'm going to be back in about 3 months, so I'll have a LOT of work on this done by then hopefully.

Cheers, haveth fun!
