Lan Games?

Ive been trying to do a lan game with just 2 pc's forever i got 2 diffrent copys of the game (Ra2YR) is it posible to play with only ab Ethernet cord and no router? If so how? Any info link's to tut's ETC. would be apricated.

As far as I'm aware of if you want to do a lan game, whether it be between two or more people, you need some type of router or switch. Also you need to make sure that for both pc's that you have the IPX/SPX protocols installed for your Ethernet port. If you need help with that just reply and ask because I don't feel like explaining it right now.

Ok well both pc's have IPX/SPX protocols installed. but i dont have a router or switch of any kind .... thx for the info guess ill need to go buy a router


Edit- Would it be posable to use Win-Xp's ICS To play mutiplayer on 2 pc's?

A wireless router is more useful for games with lots of people (provided that they can connect wirelessly).

With RA2YR it is possible to play games over the internet with 2 or more people from the same network. With Generals, you have to have LAN and different serial codes and i don't know if LAN even works with TS.
