I just played a game where I played against an infantry helix attack. I've uploaded the replay below. I was Laser General.

Before you read on, watch the replay.

As you noticed, nere the end, just after he fired his artillery, I moved my units out of the way were he fired. I thought he'd fire there because he wanted to get rid of my avengers so he could attack with another helix. I also used my spy sattelight around at his air field becuase I knew his artillery would have to go over that area to get to me. I then saw the artillery on my radar.

It's really nice being USA because with your spy sattelight, you can usaully see what the enemy is going to do. I knew he would use the tactic that he did because there'd be almost no other reason to build an air field that quickly. As you saw, I used a humvee to see if I could run over his infantry before he got them in the helix, it didn't work. LOL.

Well, I hope this post & the replay will help you counter future players like this. My strategy that I used, can also be used against Air Force generals that use combat chinooks.

yes, its cool that usa gets it free, china and gla have to purchase such things and it really sucks for china and u have to make a lot of radar vans to see everywhere they could be coming from, and it would come the quickest for reusage...
BTW, is that link on the website....

Infantry doesn't need to go Lix to win, you're opponent was probably one of those "I'll keep doing this till I lose" type-players. Migs would have been a much better option, providing he can keep you pressured and not allow you to get avengers.

Before you read on, watch the replay.
No replay to watch, so .. :p

Provided you go for a standard MDvee build, all you really need is a couple of TOWvees and some MD's spread out. Use ambulances to run down infantry, they've got better armour for some reason.

My strategy that I used, can also be used against Air Force generals that use combat chinooks.
No decent USAF uses Combat Nooks these days, it's really an all-or-nothing strat. And any USA vs USAF should be a game of drops & vee spam, if you can start spamming Avengers against USAF then you're opponent's really not that good.

The only real advantage for USA is that it gets to scan early game & place the spy-drone. Once that's done, you sell your CC anyway. China doesn't purchase Radar early game because you usually ALWAYS sell CC with China, and GLA will always sell CC once it gets the workers out.
Besides, if USA gets the money after it techs to get rebuild it's CC, it's usually in a winning position anyway, and radar doesn't make all too much difference. Same with China, and GLA should have enough map control [tunnels] to not need radar.

Use ambulances to run down infantry, they've got better armour for some reason.
The reason is: They have ToxinTractor armor-type to be imune to toxin and radiation. So, as ToxinTractors are resistant to rockets and infantry fire (as Dtanks, but Dtanks are not resistant to radiation and are imune to fire) there's why the ambulance is that though against infantry. Beware of MD LL cause it have armor-piercing damage-type and do extra damage to Dtank and ToxinTractor (as well ambulance) armor-type.

Now u see why it is not an annoyance, Avapodnaught?!
BTW, the GLA as the better radar system. They are the first to have a radar (cause they don't need the CC) and late game they can upgrade it to make scans, then there is usefull to have more than one van.

Ah yes, but it always seemed that Toxin Tractors were the weaker of the trio [Ambulances, DTanks & Toxin Tractors].

GLA doesn't even need the Scan unless you're playing against USAF or Stealth [where it can be useful, not not entirely necessary as opposed to playing against USAF].

I think the Ambo also has more health than the Tox tractor, which is why it seems stronger to you. The Ambulance really is good for runing over infantry though, its fun when GLAs tech/RPG you and you just run over their four RPGs with an ambulance, only taking half damage :D

First extract the file from the .zip folder. Then put it in "My Documents\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Replays".

Reminds me of a game we had one time :moonie:
We had a lot of games, most of which were USA vs. GLA (the rest were anything vs. SW :p) You have a tendancy to start off really well, then lose because you overlooked one critical detail, often involving tunnels and routes to your base :p

Umm, is the invisi post back? :squint:

I guess the ambu and ToxinTractor are evened in HP but the tractor is slower and so it is more likely to die to a LL or rocket barrage than the ambu.
BTW the Dtank is the tougher of the three.

Also good vs USAf drop without time to LL, as u well know! :p

(the rest were anything vs. SW :p)
 Get used drgNz~!

Time travel posts. CnC Den always cutting edge!:D
