The proof:

Notice that I am quoting a post that apparently came after mine, in fact as of this thread posting drgnz's post should still not exist! :wtf: At first I thought it was the old invisi-post bug, which was the reason for my second post (which also appeared before drgnz's post).

Here is the thread (if this problem doesn't auto-resolve itself): http://forums.cncden.com/showthread.php?p=349091#post349091

Interestingly, the post numbers (ie, "349091") are in the actual order of posting: drgnz's is first, followed by my two.

If this cow invented time travel, why didn't he at least tell us? :\

It's been happening for a while. When Meteor posted about changing her avatar, her 2nd post (that was halfway down the topic) popped back into the 2nd slot.

Well I've been gone for a week and there were no threads in the Ask Staff section, so I say, fix it or else :p

The time problem should be fixed now.

see really its the government, they don't like us talking about fake war's verses the Soviets and they are tampering with our time because we've really posted several War initiating post so far in the life of DGNF (at least three have been linked to Derek :P), they just delete them from time!

*blu runs to a window*

"GIVE US BACK OUR TIME YOU MONSTERS!"

*klex gives blu a cookie*

Anyone want to argue with a five story tall blue dragon that eats stuff like... COOKIES?!?!....didn't think so....

It seems to be on and off. Like right now my time is normal, and sometimes it's as much as 30min off. I'll let Lion know to ask the server host what's going on with this clock. ;)

Im the host. ;) So far the time has been correct (from what I've seen) for about 20 hours now without needing to be synced up with the time server.

If you see any problems, let me know.

It is still happening.

All 3 of my posts were made after Ein's. I made the first one and it was put behind his, so I edited and reposted. Then I realized that the forum had magically changed Ein's post timestamp to say 11:41am US Central (it was actually made earlier, not sure exactly when, but it was before 11:37am.) My posts say 11:37 and 11:39, which are both correct.

I just fixed the time. It was off by about 4 minutes. Let me know if you notice it happen again.

Derek

The problem wasn't that it was off by a consistant amount, such as four minutes, but that the clock would vary widely. It was slowly moving ahead of the real time up to about 30 minutes ahead, then jumping back to the correct time, and then creeping forwards again. This is what caused all the posts to be out of order.

what about the problem where one person makes two consecutive posts in total chronological sense, without merging into a doublepost...

Auto-merge only occurs for posts made relatively near each other, like within 15 minutes or something.

Naw. I've done some that are at least a day old before.

It's his new top secret superweapon: the Chronosphere mark II.
Probably after having many hours on RA2/YR :D

Now serious: Hope it gets definetly fixed.:)

can't it be automatically updated by means of atomic clock, relative to time zone? or is that not possible?

Sorry for resurrecting this thread....but it's STILL happening. I posted a reply to someone's post in the "The Person Below Me!" thread. A few minutes later, I posted in the "Terran Federation: Resurrection" thread. Then I went to the main page, and where it shows the latest posts at the bottom of the page, it said that I had replied in the "The Person Below Me" AFTER I had posted in the Terran Federation thread. Then Annihlator : D replied to my post in 'The Person Below Me!", and my post appeared after his, even though it was actually before his. Not to sound demanding or anything, but when are the powers that be going to fix this?

Anyhoo, almost a general!!!

Yeah, in the Terran Federation, Ein just responded to my transmission and suddenly his post was dated before mine.

We've tried several things to get the server time to stay synced up with the time server but none of them have been successful. Because of this, it looks like it's probably a hardware issue.

The server time is currently being resynced every hour but it sounds like its still not helping the situation much.

Keep me updated on when you see it happen so I can keep track of it.

I'll try to keep you guys updated on the status of getting this fixed.

Sorry for the hassle.

It's still happening. I just posted in the "The Person Below Me" thread in reply to SirSnake's post, and my post appeared before his.

I got it as well in the "Banned FOR-EV-VER!" topic. Sorry for the one-liner, but I don't really have much else to say.
