I dont know if this is a known fact, but i was schocked to see how many mammoth tank shots (Upgraded) it takes to kill 1(!) black hand soldier(:flame:) from a squad. It usually takes 3-4 shots, wich is more then most vehickles can take. So do black hand make a better meatshield then those militiant squad's? i would like to here youre opinion.

Blackhands are heavy infantry and cannon weapons (which include the Railgun, Triopod laser, and Scorpian laser) do **** damage to heavy infantry. That was one of the changes in 1.05.

Definitly Black Hands can resist lots of damage, but they are still vulnerable to vehicles and long range weapons, remember their flamethrowers are close combat weapons, zone troopers and shock troopers dont have to go so close to kill someone, also this weapon is still not useful against tank (that's why you should mix them with rocket boys)

No, they're vulneralbe to anything that does anti-infantry damage.
Seriously, EA wants people to use multiple unit types. The more unit types you have, the more versitile your army will be. Black Hand will be a better "meat shield" than Militant Squads, but the Militants probably still have a place in your army. And yes, as noted above, throw some rocket squads into the mix.
You shouldn't be using meatshields anyways. If the only purpose of a unit in your army is to absorb damage then don't build it, because no one will attack it until its the only unit left. Every unit you use needs to have a purpose.
EDIT: Time travel again. I posted after Zardac.

Hrmm. That means you play as Nod...
Just use Black Hand. Only Black Hand. :D

Black hand is incredible for assault on GDI or Nod. Takes two shots from an emitter to kill them, and Nod simply can't stop them when you mix in fanatics.

Vertigo bombers and venoms can chop that combination down... Y not just use shadow teams coming from the rear? Kill the fanatics then the black hand...

Actually, since 1.05, shadow teams arent that effective against infantry anymore :scared:

They're not omgwtfhax effective, but they're still a hardcounter to all infantry. So if you see your enemy massing rockets or zone troopers, nothing will take them out faster than a couple shadow teams.

I don't know... Would a commando or a shadow team win? but then again, two shadow teams would be more in the price range of one commando... 3 or whatever, don't use commandos much, ever since I found out that u can't stealth them with ur cloaking field, it just damages them...
they might be the best infantry on infantry... mayb not mastermind tho...

This brings up a question I've always wondered: would an inf unit become cloaked if managed to survive the damaging effects of the cloak field power???

The commando survives...
This is a letdown on what I use it for, killing enemy infantry, it won't kill highly armored infantry, which a commando isn't, but it does survive, zone troopers, shock troopers, and some few others also survive this cloak field, be great for helping stop an infantry rush, but costs so much... usually use it if I have too much cash...

They don't:lol:
You could cloak them if you would put them in a APC and then cloak the APC, but i think they changed that in 1.05?

A lot of things used to be able to survive it, like Fanatics, but in the patch the cloaking field's damage to infantry was buffed so now only heavy infantry can survive.

Kinda makes you wonder why they made it damaging to infantry in the first place...:hmm:

I don't know, but its really handy against masses of rocket infantry or Zone Trooper drops.

But you could probably get the Commando or the Shadow Teams for cheaper than 3000. Depends on money situation.

Oh definately, but if you don't already have them on hand then you might not be able to get the fast enough, Zone troopers can do a lot of damage is a pretty short time. Its more of an emergency thing, when you don't have anything else available to stop them, but its useful. (BTW, it doesn't kill them, it takes them down to half health at which point militia or shredder turrets can easily finish them)

BTW, has the patch nerfed their firepower somewhat? Last time I tried to have them take out a refinery, it took the squad about a full minute to destroy it!

I don't use the zone trooper drop pod much anymore, but it is awesome!
Only gainst hard and lower comps and if I have a friend, brutal

No, they were entirely uneffected by the patch.
